WOYWW #270 and Moths and Yellow Roses

I don't know why I'm sharing my desk for WOYWW this week - it's a complete disaster!  The last week of the ICAD challenge just didn't happen for me - below you can see one of several failed attempts at an index card - I somehow couldn't get the ideas out of my brain and onto the actual cards!  I now need to find the Oomph to tidy my desk - I just hate it being messy and unorganized!

Failing at the index cards I turned to my trusty old moths and photographed them on a little pink dish that I picked up in a local charity shop, a rose from the garden and an old book.  Mmm, salmon pink and yellow - not sure about that colour combo - but it's growing on me!

  1. It's not a combination that springs readily to mind but it's a beautiful one! The iridescence on a moth's wings is a joy to behold. We so rarely get a chance to see them in such detail....gorgeous!

  2. I love the combination.... it has such a warm, old feel too it. Very comforting.

I'm so glad you are sharing your moths too...... previously I had always thought of moths as brown and dull.

  3. I love the colour combination Diana. Those photos are BEAUTIFUL!! I wish I could frame them all and have them on my wall. As far as your untidy desk is concerned I am sure it is the most beautiful untidy desk I will ever see.You should see mine LOL! Thanks for your lovely comments on my 'Frida'

  4. Your photos always look so appealing - it's a wonder anyone ever reads my blog cause I just grab the camera, vaguely focus it and snap snap snap :) Such wonderful colours and yes, the prettiest messy desk of the week!

    Happy WOYWW!

  9. Hi Diana! Beautiful moths and the colors are great! I know how hard it is to get things/ideas started from the brain to hand...I seem to stay on one theme for quite a while because of that issue! Thanks for sharing your beauty and you desk! Hugs, Rasz #72

  11. This post is so pretty, actually beautiful to be honest and I love the old china with a passion. I like how you have grouped the cottons on the plate and the moth, clever. Not to sure about the colour combo, I need to work on that one.

    Happy WOYWW

  12. Wow, that moth is so beautiful, I don't think I've ever seen one with that gorgeous pink before. And I love it with the yellow rose. And judging by the top picture, I don't think you're capable of having a desk that really is an actual disaster!

  13. Beautiful colours, beautiful moths and I love those three colours together, they are such soft gentle colours they work really well. Looking forward to see what you do with them.

  14. Oh how absolutely beautiful, Diana! Such delicate, pastel shades. You may be frustrated by an untidy desk but the tapes and fabric, and even the colour-co-ordinated scissors, make a beautiful picture.

Thank you for your lovely comment - I am feeling tons better now but had a rough week after I came home, utterly exhausted and initially very fragile emotionally which was horrible as it was so unlike me! Following that, I have had a lot of stress that I could well have done without, dealing with my very difficult mum who thinks about nobody else but herself... All I want atm is a period of peace and quiet and an opportunity to retreat into my ARTHaven and lose myself playing!!

So glad you like my latest teabag efforts. I am very pleased with the sepia pen, and also the discovery that the pastel pencils work so well for colouring and shading.

Sorry to have missed WOYWW last week! Hope you are having a great weekend.

  15. Oh those ribbons are beautiful. I know what you mean about not being able to get ideas out of your head looking the way they did inside your head, though.
That salmon pink with the yellow rose is beautiful, a really delicate combination.
