Coral Dreams - A Boat Full of Treasures for Paper Artsy

I was so thrilled to be asked recently to do a blog post for Paper Artsy, on the theme of stencils.

The finished piece was a little boat surrounded by coral and filled with seashells and other special treasures!  Step by step instructions and information on the techniques I used are on their blog here.

  12. Whenever I visit, I just want to go out to the local craft store and make something creative, but then I would have no place to display it. You are amazing, so talented!

  15. That is fabulous! Love the cool white with the strong dashes of color from the coral and the paint on the hull of the boat, as well as the border. Lots of texture and interest, it's great!

  16. Thank you for your two lovely comments, Diana - I'm definitely feeling a bit better today and we went out for a short outing to look at the sea this p.m. OK I was shattered afterwards but it's a step in the right direction! So glad you enjoyed my 3-D needle felting. I've done a bit on flat pieces too but it's the same principle. I love how you can build up so gradually with little whisps of wool roving - it is so controllable! I'm so looking forward to feeling better because I've got so many ideas rushing around in my head but still lack the motivation to do anything much. Only a few days left till my next treatment and I'm just hoping it doesn't completely flatten me again...
