Insect Card Toppers and WOYWW

Very little has been happening on my desk lately as the Hubs has had a hip replacement operation during the last two weeks - he was walking around on day 2, walking up and down stairs on day 3 and he was home by day 4  - I was amazed at how quickly they chucked him out of hospital, but he's doing remarkably well despite my lack of nursing skills!

Anyway, I managed to grab an hour up in my studio and made some card toppers on some old blank ATC cards. I decided to play with my new insect stamps that I purchased after seeing them on Shaz's desk back before Christmas.

I'm sharing with WOYWW

  2. I didn't realise your hubby was in for a hip replacement, am really glad to hear he's doing so well! You'll be mountaineering before too long 😊
Those moth stamps are gorgeous, I can see why you were drawn to them. When we were at the National Botanic garden of Wales recently, we were strolling through the butterfly house and saw a Goliath Moth that must have been 8" across..it was huge and quite beautiful!

  3. Your DH sounds like he is doing an amazing job recovering. Hospitals really don't like keeping people in bed ... it is up and out especially after anything orthopaedic. Absolutely love what you have created. The combination of insects, script and scrolls are stunning. Have a lovely week and I hope DH's recovery continues to be speedy.

  4. Glad to hear Hubby is recovering so well. My sister was an orthopaedic theatre nurse years ago and always said, the sooner a patient was up and around, the better the recovery. Those pieces are gorgeous. Love the layering and the colour/embossing combinations. Sarah #11

  7. Happy WOYWW. I adore those card toppers - the designs, colours .... Glad to hear that your hubby is making a good recovery. My hip pain is not meant to be from the actual joints, but doctors not really sure what is causing it - so a hip replacement wouldn't help me. Ali x #5

  14. Beautiful cards! I love the embossed gold on top of the elegant blue swirls and insects! Gorgeous! I hope your hubby is feeling better every day, he seems to be doing really well! I wish mine would get his knees done, but for some reason he'd rather be in pain all the time. Thanks for sharing, Lindart #35

  21. These are beautiful, Diana - understated and delicate. Sorry to hear your hubby had surgery but very glad to hear how welll he is doing. Recovery times after hip replacements are remarkably rapid! Mum had one after a broken hip recently - aged 96 - and was home in 4 days. I signed up for WOYWW yesterday but forgot to click the button so it didn't happen till a moment ago... duh... Anyway, nothing on the desk, but lots going on in the kitchen!!

    Happy belated WOYWW,

  24. These are so beautifully elegant. Brilliantly executed as usual and just perfect. I would have probably added too much detail and spoiled them, but they are, as I said , Perfect! xx

  25. Thank you for your visit, Diana. The dry rot work is now completed, and we are now waiting for work to begin on the walk-in pantry. I'm so relieved it's done, and that it was much less devastating than we thought! The kitties are fine and glad not to have to be confined to the bathroom during working hours any longer!
