WOYWW #246 - Red Coral and Gelli Printing

After a long period of artistic inactivity I decided gelli printing might kick-start me again!      I do love coral and have used the theme in quite a lot of art work over the years.  I used some wonderful coral stencils from the Crafters Workshop that I've had for quite a while but not got round to doing anything with (familiar story?), but I am also in the middle of designing and cutting my own as I also want some slightly smaller, simpler coral shapes.

Why not pop over to WOYWW to have a snoop at other people's desks - it's fun!

  1. Goodness, that bright red gave me a kickstart this morning :-) I love it! the effects you get from gelli printing are similar to marbling paper aren't they? You never quite know how it's going to turn out. I used to do a lot of marbling when I worked at school, the kids just adored that Ta-Dah moment when you peeled back the paper..ok, I did too! *grin*
Anyhow, keep up the printing..it's fab!

  17. Wow, Diana, this is something a bit different. What a gorgeous colour combination, and your photo mosaic looks fabulous! I particularly like your brain coral stencil - that's a gorgeous pattern. One day I shall get round to gelli printing - I've already bought some materials to make my own plate!

Sorry to hear you haven't been very active creative-wise lately - I'm afraid I'm the same, and I haven't visited you for ages! I am getting back into things again now that my new ARTHaven is up and running. My little piles of teabags may look organised, but there's a fair amount of chaos the other side of the room! I'm getting there, though, and it's gradually getting more organised. I would have uploaded my second teabag video to Youtube today but I'm having problems with the editing software refusing to upload... Otherwise doing well with my new video camera/computer setup. Anyway, do keep an eye on my blog because I'm uploading more stuff about the teabags.

Thanks for your lovely comment about my zentangle card - my hubby was thrilled with it! - and also about Beatrice. She does look so cute in the little dress! She is getting better, and we are so relieved that the lump was not malignant after all. She's been through such a lot lately, poor little mite, with her teeth as well - 3 general anaesthetics in the space of about a month! She is so beautiful - inside and out - a real little character who really loves people and is so friendly and affectionate.

    Happy belated WOYWW,

  18. I just love that color, and coral itself as well. I particularly love the picture in the top left corner, that coral against the blue, with that stripe of pattern across the top. Yum! I hope the gelli printing does the trick for you in terms of motivation, because then we all benefit!

Not having used things in our studios??" I certainly can relate....so, no matter which "side of the pond we're on".....we're sharing the same sort of thing.......Have a wonderful day!! I'm so happy to have "found" you through Gelli Plate Arts!! Carole from Chicago, IL USA
