Pine Cone Gift Tags

After last weeks Poinsettia-fest I've still been churning out gift tags like there's no tomorrow but this week I've been making some with a more masculine feel - after several failed attempts I finally got the hang of Tim Holtz's pine cone die - a bit fiddly and time consuming, but I enjoyed myself!  I'm linking up with Julia over at WOYWW.  Apologies for the appalling quality of the photos - will try and do better next week!

    2. I think Sandra meant Word Verification when she left a comment - it took me a while to figure it out and of course I may be wrong!

  3. Beautiful tags! It's harder to take photos in the winter because of poor lighting. I find myself racing against the clock to finish some projects so I can take some photos before the sun goes down. Happy WOYWW! zsuzsa @ InkyDinkyDoodle #40

  7. Oh oh, more gorgeous tags! I bet that pine die is tricky to cut properly, but you've managed really well. Great look for a masculine present :-)
(And your photography isn't appalling btw!)

  13. Oh Diana... these are seriously beautiful. I just love your subtle colours and so appreciate the beauty of Christmas/winter themes without the traditional red and green! I adore how the snowy pine fronds project from the embossed background... I think I am in love!

Thanks for your lovely comment, and your compliments on my work mean so much, coming from such an accomplished artist as yourself! As for not using the stamp, I think I must be the worst offender for buying stuff and then not using it - I've got as many of those as I have UFOs (unfinished objects) lol! Working on the album, I did get some stuff out that I bought ages ago (e.g. my pan pastels), and it's always nice to know that the things are there when you want to use them. You'll get round to using the droplets stamp eventually! I look forward to seeing what you do with it. If you go to Ryn's blog, she has examples of lots of people's work, using her various stamps, which is quite interesting.

We've had a pretty awful day and Mum has had about 3 TIAs today and is now in hospital as they are concerned these might be a prelude to a big one. Had a rather difficult time with my sister and I'm now done in and have angina... Never rains but it pours! My poor hubby has done so much today and I don't want to add to his burdens!

    Happy belated WOYWW,

  14. Thank you for your return visit and your very kind good wishes, Diana. Mum will be in for another couple of days and then probably to the local cottage hospital (which will be further for us to travel and a real nuisance with my hubby not being able to drive with his broken wrist). She is going to have intensive therapy to get her walking properly again and then we'll see if she can come home. If she is still wobbly and at risk of falling she will have to go into residential care. My hubby has been rushing about sorting things - I really don't know what I'd do without him!!

Sorry to hear you had the same with your mum. You certainly understand what we are going through.

  16. These new tags are stunning! I agree, the pinecone die is fiddly and can be really frustrating, but it's worth it once you get it down. I love the way you've incorporated the embossing and the dies, and your color choices are absolutely beautiful.
