I've been slowly working on a collection of little decorative seed pods using silk cocoons. As my collection grew I struggled to find a way of displaying them, and then walking past a bowl filled with pot pourri, I noticed this large seed head - perfect!!
As well as the silk cocoons I used felt, wire, beads, clay pipe stems, cinnamon sticks, eucalyptus bark, wired beads and pleated silk, plus a few touches of glitter for a frosty effect.
So that's what is sitting on my desk today and I'm linking up with Julia over at What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday to see what other people have on their desks this week.
Wow, Diana, the detail is amazing and as you say the seed pod is just perfect for your creation of beauty!!!

What an intriguing collection.I couldn't help picking up and feeling all these gorgeous little things. When I was teaching I had sectioned wooden boxes filled with wonderful seed pods collected over many years, and many given to me. The kids loved them too.

mazing!! Love the kind of heart shape of the large seed head, it holds all those smaller elements to perfection! What a stunning and creative piece of home decor!
ReplyDeleteOh my friend you have surpassed yourself on this one. It is truly of unique. I can't stop looking at it and keep going back to look at all the different parts. So much effort and thought. The silk pleating is beautiful and stitch marks on the felt balls must have been hard to do.
ReplyDeleteWell done Diana, I feel so thrilled and proud for you.
