Warm and Woolly

It's time for WOYWW again, and this week summer really has disappeared - after last weeks Christmas trees I'm now in woolly scarf mode!
I found some rather cosy knitting and crochet patterns on the internet and I felt so chilly and miserable over the wet August bank holiday that I dug out my knitting bag and got stuck in!  My newest finds, the little jug and bowl, were sitting on my desk and I noticed how beautifully they matched the wool - what a lucky coincidence!

For anyone interested both lots of wool are Dune by Trendsetter Yarns.

  7. Once again you have wonderful colours and textures in your photographs - it's amazing how the colours in the yarn and the jug match perfectly. You have an extraordinary eye for tones :-) It's definitely autumnal if you feel like knitting though, lol...I've just finished a crochet blanket and that was too warm to work on a couple of weeks ago, now it's lovely!!
I think Winchester Cathedral has the most amazing nooks and crannies for finding little works of art as well as the large ones. Maybe you and I could pool our resources and 'borrow' the lump of wood - we could time share it in out gardens. Whaddya think?? By the way, you made me hoot with your 'whittling'! If you're able to whittle something like that, then I'll take off my hat to you :-)
    Hugs, LLJ 20 xx

  9. Awesome! I just picked up my knitting needles again last night, too. It's been probably two years since I knitted anything. Your photos are beautiful, and I love that yarn.

  10. the pictures are great but I love your unusual knitting needles... they work so well with the pretty jug. I'm guessing they are old ones.
if you haven't found them the wonder clips are made by clover obviously they are available at that well known store in Winchester along with a cheaper version which I haven't tried ( they arrived after I brought mine).

  11. Mmmm, that gorgeous yarn is making me miss my knitting phase - scarves are pretty much the one thing I could do, I can't wait for scarf weather - there are occasional little hints in the air that it's coming!

And your darling jug and bowl - those make me miss my mosaics phase - I used to scour shops for broken and chipped ones like that to use and developed a love for old pieces like that in the process.

Thanks for visiting - yes, a fabulous day - and the sun did, indeed, shine.
    Take care. God bless.
