Cathedral Window Patchwork Pin Cushion and WOYWW

In stark contrast to last week I am so pleased I managed to work out what day of the week it is today so I can join in with WOYWW!
I have been quite busy this week but did manage to find time to make myself a pincushion.  I was taught this Cathedral Window patchwork technique by a friend back in March and the one I made then was rather too vivid so I've made a more neutral coloured one - it matches the colours in my studio much better!

I  have some old antique photos I stamped some images on a few years ago and they've been sitting in a box doing nothing ever since - so they are going to be my UFO for next week - now I just have to find them!

I hope you are all keeping safe and well.

Guitar Gift Box and Card and WOYWW

My youngest nephew is very much into his electric guitar and is saving for a good quality amp, so for his 15th birthday hard cash was his gift preference!  Here's the guitar themed card and gift box that I made for him - the box was trickier than I anticipated and looks much better from afar!

The card was stencilled and I used silver foil to highlight some of the guitar parts - the strings were sewing cotton.  The box was covered in Glossy Accents to give is a high shine with Liquid Pearls and Enamel Accents for the extra bits.

And on a completely different note sitting on on my desk today is a patchwork pin cushion I made - I was taught the technique this week by a very clever friend.  The pink ribbons are only pinned on for effect - a bit too much pink for my taste - but I'm hoping to find some suitable green ribbon at Hobbycraft this morning!

I'm linking up with Julia over at WOYWW this week.

A Little Lace Pin Cushion and WOYWW

I made a small pin cushion for a friend, using a silver salt dish
I found in a junk shop.
The flowers are made from gathered seam binding.

I'm linking up with Julia over at WOYWW to share what's on my desk this week.
A belated Happy New Year to you!

Pin Cushions and WOYWW #275

For WOYWW this week I don't have much on my desk - I have managed to spend a week making a pin cushion - yes, just one! Being in the throes of decorating I was quite pleased that I managed to get something done at all!  I decided to use a little vintage patty tin and some favourite fabric scraps with bees on - it's the start of my Christmas gift making - see how organised I am!

WOYWW #209

I don't have much on my desk to show this week so I thought I would take a photo of the dish that has water, sponges and pins always handy - and of course the stuff that shouldn't be there, like an necklace that needs mending and some corkboard pins awaiting a new corkboard!  There is nothing like taking a photo of your desk to show just how much your water pot needs cleaning - I really hadn't noticed how messy it was until I saw the photo!

I had to include a close-up of my favourite mug from Anthropologie and my treasured vintage style pincushion.
If you want to see what's on other people's desks this week why not pop over to WOYWW and have a snoop.
