I've inadvertently been taking a blog break - it wasn't planned but I just haven't had the time or the inclination to get stuck into things in my studio!
However, when Jan reminded me it was the 8th anniversary of WOYWW this week I knew I had to pull my finger out and join in.
On my desk for the last 3 weeks has been a bag of stash I purchased at the Brockenhurst Needlework Fiesta, a great yearly event I try never to miss. So I pulled my finger out and went to great effort last night and took the items out of the carrier bag to photograph them - hopefully I'll have them put away by next week!
I have two bundles of sari silk ribbon - I was seduced by the colour, hand-dyed embroidery yarns and velvet for a couple of projects I'm planning, and I just can't get enough matte cream beads, as you probably guessed!
Happy 8th Anniversary WOYWW - and a big thank you to our host Julia who does all the hard work to keep this great party going!
Hi Diana, Happy anniversary! I've only been a member for few weeks, introduced by Jan. The colours in your sari silk are stunning. have a great week, and let me know if you would like an ATC. My email's at the top right of my blog. hugs, Lynne - Lynnecradts #23

So glad to see you again Diana. Like you, I had to come back for the anniversary party. Golly, that sari silk is awesome. what I could do with it. And of course, a gal can't have too many cream beads, either!

Glad you made it for the anniversary. That sari silk is stunning. I must admit I'm intrigued by what you do with all the cream beads. Hope you make it back soon and share. Sarah #27
ReplyDeleteHi Diana, lovely to see you back.
ReplyDeleteI admit I was really annoyed, not at being cancelled, clearly there are people who are a much higher priority than me at the moment, but because they have the MDT meeting on a Tuesday, so he'd known for almost a week they hadn't reviewed my scans, so could have let me know earlier. Never mind, it is what it is.
Beautiful sari silk, I can see why you were seduced by the colours. Have a lovely week, Love and hugs,Shaz #7 XxX
Gracious me Woman, you are a textile artist, how can you JUST put them away again - make something I beg of you, I have used up all my sari silks and haven't sourced an outlet here yet, not something I buy on line... Happy Anniversary doone @23
ReplyDeleteI'd have been seduced by the colours too! As for the ATCs, I'm happy to send you one anyways. I mean I still have yours from last year on display and I think that counts don't you, for the endless inspiration all year it has given me. You might need to send me your address again though, can't say I have stored that as well! LOL Sorry to hear that you aren't in such a good place right now, I pray that you will find a way out of it soon. Hugs BJ#19
ReplyDeleteOh such yummy things, you found, Diana , I would have bought it all myself, if I had the chance,- I love sari silks, and buy then online at Rainbow Silks ,UK.

ReplyDeleteYummy sari silk! I'd be seduced too by such pretty colors! Matte cream beads? Who can ever have enough of those? I like the pearlescent clear and matte cream kinds. Haven't beaded for years, and yet I've kept some just the same. Lolz

ReplyDeleteGorgeous, gorgeous sari silk, Diana! And all those beads too. You will have plenty to play with for the foreseeable future.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to have to report that we lost our kitty Phoebe yesterday and we are feeling very sad - our remaining one, Beatrice, has been searching for her all day which is very distressing. I had an incredibly busy week last week and then had to endure 2 whole days of exhaustion but I'm better now and catching up. Over the past week I've made 2 cards for my hubby (one for his birthday and one for our anniversary) which are both now on my blog, and I think you might enjoy seeing them!
Happy WOYWW,
