While having a sort out in my studio I came across these jigsaw pieces that I had painted and printed last year but not got round to using.
They were part of an idea for my 'midnight garden' project which is why I've added them to the black sketchbook page - I like the idea of all the tiny little aspects of the garden that we often miss making up the whole picture. The jigsaw pieces seemed to be perfect for this. I'm not sure how I'm going to take this further but the foundations are there and I will work on it later in the summer - I have Spring projects to complete first!
I'm linking up with Julia over at WOYWW this week.
Hi Diana, you have reminded me that somewhere in my craft room I have a couple of packs of precut jigsaws, from Dovecraft. Not seen them for so long, I'd forgotten about them! Love the blue & white combo, almost like pottery. Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #18 XxX
ReplyDeleteI agree with Shaz - your jigsaw pieces almost look like they were ceramics! A very interesting idea and I can't wait to find out where you're taking it. It also got the creative side of my brain ticking! Happy #470! Hope you have a lovely week! zsuzsa #20
ReplyDeleteBeautiful ATCs you've received and love those jigsaw pieces - thanks for sharing. Hazel, # 22 x
ReplyDeleteHi Diana, love the delicacy of the blue and white against the textured black backgrounds. I'll have to look out my pre cut jigsaw blanks too lol. Have a great week. Sarah #4
ReplyDeleteWhat an adorable ATC to add to your collection. And those puzzle pieces are out of this world. I love how they are stamped in blue on a white background. Most impressive, Diana. Thanks for visiting earlier. Happy WOYWW from #2.
ReplyDeleteWell, that's just sexy! I love the black background and different textures - I think dark astrantia flowers (indigo or violet) would be gorgeous too. Very boudoir, dahling!!

ReplyDeleteAlso so lovely to receive artsy ATC`s .

Sounds like I'm not the only one who bought some packs of Zigsaws. I keep looking at them and thinking yes I will do something with those soon! Maybe soon Lol! Great ATC collection too. Happy woyww, Angela x16x

ReplyDeleteSo much inspiration this week on our WOYWW posts. Loving the puzzles pieces. I too have several sizes stashed away. Would be a fun project to share with my mom. Just adorable card and ATC from Kim. I enjoy the exchange so much. Receiving mail is almost a thing of the past. Have a fun week.
ReplyDeleteThose little pieces remind me of the pottery bits that Ben loves to find in my garden - there is something fresh and lovely about tiny scraps of blue and white! x Jo
ReplyDeleteI love how they really make you pay attention to the fragments of the images you can see - you really notice the incredible intricate detailing of the stamps you've used. Glad you found them and looking forward to seeing them progress later in the year.

A lovely ATC and card, and your jigsaw pieces are gorgeous, Diana. Thank you for your lovely comment, and I'm glad you like our sundial. My hubby hasn't had time to paint the base yet but I'm sure it's going to look great. As for the kitties, they spent the whole day out in the garden today and then crashed out asleep when they came in after all that excitement and fresh air! Ruby likes the laundry basket but prefers it when it's got some dirty laundry in it! We had a cat in the past who always liked sleeping in there, too, pushing the lid off with her nose and climbing in, and getting a fright when my hubby thrust another dirty shirt on top of her! It makes a nice cosy nest.
ReplyDeleteHappy belated WOYWW,

ove the message on Kim’s ATC, it is so often what I want to say to people when we’re in a workshop and they’ve downed tools to chat!! How striking those puzzle pieces are on the black; i wonder if your original plan will come to you while you’re ‘walking around it’!
