I haven't done much arty crafty stuff lately as I've been making the most of the lovely weather we've been having and working in the garden. But I have taken a break to mess about with some silver clay. After doing a wonderful workshop recentlty I just had to have a go at home, so after a small investment in colours and a larger investment in a UV light box this is my first attempt.
I had some left over bits of silver clay and had to use them quickly, so I made this second pendant and had a go at setting a stone, which I'd also never done before. The design emerged from ideas about pollen and seeds, possibly because I've been getting hay fever, but I'm thinking it looks a little bit more like coral!
I'm linking up with WOYWW this week for their 10th Anniversary - what an amazing achievement, I've loved being part of it and look forward to many more weekly meet ups in blog land.
A Happy Anniversary to all you lovely deskers out there and a HUGE thank you to Julia who has kept it all running so smoothly and for so long.
Lovely to see you on here and with such gorgeous silver jewellery. Yes, it reminds me of coral a bit too but I can see the pollen and seeds too. I am sure you must be pleased with what you have made.
ReplyDeleteThe workshop went well on Saturday, despite being in pain I managed to get through it and it seemed to spark off an interest in teabags for a few of the members. Looking forward to seeing what they produce in the future. Still did not get the lace book done though - back to the drawing board.
Hugs, Neet 18 xx
Happy anniversary, it's nice to 'meet' almost every Wednesday and see what you're up to. Jewelry is not my 'cup of tea' but I love your pendants, especially the 'seed' one (Yup, I think of coral too when I see it!) Hugs and kisses from the Netherlands. Marit #17
ReplyDeleteWOW Diana they are stunning - I too went on a workshop and have bought some clay and a blow torch- still not got round to "playing" though.
ReplyDeleteHi Sue,
DeleteThanks so much for your comments - I hope you soon get to 'play' - it's great fun! Couldn't find a link to you so hope you see this!

These are truly stunning Diana, such a wonderful art and so rewarding to create these unique pieces. Both wonderful pieces of wearable art but the second I have to say is my favourite, the design is so organic reminding me of how leaves biodegrade. A very worthwhile investment as I know it can be an expense.
ReplyDeleteSo glad to have you amongst my creative blog buddies. Happy 10th WoywW Hugs Tracey #9 P.S I hope you find a quick fix to the suspicions of hay fever x
Wow, they are gorgeous Diana, I'd wear them! Love the blues in the first and the coral look of the second. You're just a clever bunny!! Happy 10th WOYWW!

ReplyDeleteHappy 10th WOYWW birthday Diana. These pieces are stunning, no one would believe you were a beginner, you have such a great eye for design. Sarah #3
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness - what a glorious post. I see seeds and pollen too (also staving off the first twitches of hayfever - compared to when I was younger I mostly don't suffer much these days... touch wood) and both pieces are completely beautiful. The colours in the first one made me sigh with happiness! I knew nothing of silver clay, so I'm off to do some research.

Hi Diana, Sorry I'm late visiting! Happy 10th WOYWW anniversary. Your investment was certainly worthwhile - the jewellery is stunning, you definitely have talent, but we knew that already from everything else you create! Now I want to have a go at jewellery making ... but I shall wait until I've got through the mountain of craft stuff I have bought and not used! Have a lovely week, Heather x #30
ReplyDeleteHi Diane! I am not a regular on WOYWW due to illness but I used to be and also I love to go to the crop! This is the first time I have been to see your blog and I love the variety of things you do! I do cards predominately but I try other things too! Thank you for visiting my blog and HAPPY 10th WOYWW birthday!
ReplyDeleteLove and hugs

Wow and wow again, Diana, those pendants are absolutely stunningly gorgeous! They have a real organic look about them and I particularly love the second one, though it's hard to choose between them! Thank you for your visit, and I'm glad you enjoyed the card I made for my hubby, with Lily taking to the skies! He loves it. I'm so glad you like my slippers too - high praise coming from you, whose work I admire beyond words!! I need to get them finished but at the moment I'm struggling to keep going, with all the hassle of the PIP application which is taking its toll on my health and today I'm feeling floppy and ghastly. Your friend is absolutely right - dehumanising is exactly the right word for the whole process. It really shouldn't be such a struggle that it makes you worse, in order to get what is your right. Thank you for your good wishes for our anniversary tomorrow, and for the kitties' 2nd birthday too!
ReplyDeleteHappy 10th anniversary WOYWW,

ReplyDeleteHi Diana - Happy 10th anniversary - Couldn't comment yesterday as blogger wasn't letting me - bah humbug! - so am trying to get around a few today whilst at least google and blogger are working!!!
ReplyDeleteThose pendants are stunning - well done!
It would be so lovely to meet up with you and see some of your great work "in real life" - another time maybe?
Take care. God bless.

HI Diana, OOoh WOW those look so amazing :) Happy Anniversary. ~Stacy #35
ReplyDeleteSorry I’m late! Oh my, am glad I came. Have seen many people using this PMC, it is amazing. What I haven’t seen though, until today was anything that took my breath away like these do...I bet you had ideas overload after the workshop, I can totally see this as a fab addition to your arts. Love the way you’ve added the stone like a cabochon setting. My favourite setting ever, love the simplicity of outlining the stone. It’s a real toss up between desk and garden isn’t it, the weather makes the garden a winner and oh god, how bruised are my knees!!!
ReplyDeleteHappy 10th Anniversary!
ReplyDeleteYour pendants are WOW!!
I'm a bit late but working my way around. Hope you have a great weekend and thanks for popping by!
