And before I know it two weeks have passed me by and I don't know where they've gone! My desk is still pretty much unreachable due to sorting and organising - I've started on my degree portfolios now so an awful lot of huge A1 sized stuff is everywhere and my plan is to halve the volume of it all - I'm in a ruthless mood so it should work!
I managed to rescue some lino cutting tools and inks and brought them down to the calm of the dining table to cut and print a birthday card and gift box for my youngest nephew who has just turned 16 - he's into guitars as you might have guessed!
Gorgeous card and gift box... it can be so hard to make a card for the young ones. You have definitely hit the spot. Enjoy your sorting and organising :)

Oh I do love a good sort out as well, I’m ruthless too when it comes to repurposing/chucking stuff, I rarely hang to anything that won’t have a purpose anymore. I never got the hang of Lino printing but you have, that guitar is fab for a teen!

Your guitar lino is fab. You really make me want to have another go at lino printing. I remember doing lots at collage - and potato printing fabric endlessly!! xx Jo
ReplyDeleteHi Diana. A great birthday card and gift box. Beautiful colours on the little box.
ReplyDeleteI looked out a load of things the other week - and yes! A1 stuff takes up SO much room!! Especially if the mood board has some 3-D items on it!
Take care. God bless.

I must be the only dealer who doesn't like a sort out though it needs doing ! Love the card and gift pouch, perfect! Helen #1
ReplyDeleteI know about those "ruthless moods" - once I swept everything off my desk into the bin - only to later retrieve half of it LOL! Those lino prints and the card look amazing! Cool enough for a 16-year-old, I would say! Have a lovely week, Diana! xx zsuzsa #28
ReplyDeleteJust super cool - love the card and box!! Happy WOYWW, stay well, stay safe, love n hugs, Cindy #27
ReplyDeleteLove the card and the gift box too. Good luck with the sorting and the ruthless mood. I managed to move lots of crafting stuff into the cabin and now I'm left with stuff from my time at teacher training college and it's so difficult to let stuff go and at the moment I'm left with a loft full of stuff that I know I will never need again. I have also found some creative textiles pieces, some finished and some which I could add to but it's so hard to make a decision whether to keep it or throw it away. Just have to be brave and do it. Take care my friend and have a happy woyww, Angela x19x
ReplyDeleteThat's a fantastic lino cut, my Son would love that he's always been into guitars, in fact he brought himself a new one in February when he turned 27. Love the card and money wallet. It's such a hard task to sort and clear craft stash and old projects, I think the majority of creatives are horder's. Good luck with it all.

Oh my Diana, you’ve got a touch of the Jan about you - she’s a ruthless clearer. Ruthless!! Loving the Lino printing, I can’t see the positive/negative in my head well enough to do that, and then there’s the patience part...I LOVE the result though, bet your nephew did as well!
ReplyDeleteHow perfect is that lino print?! Just right on the card and works perfectly in the gift format too. Spring blessings, Lisa-Jane #7
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous card and gift box Diana. Best of luck with the ongoing sorting and ruthlessness! Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah #4
ReplyDeleteFabulous card and gift box, love the colours. My sister has just given my a huge packet of my father’s stuff. There are a couple of watercolour pads new, but also two A3 full up. She thought I could paint over them or paint on the back! I pulled out all the ones that were just colour swatches and the like, but I am not sure I want to use his completed works. My sister is in the middle of a move so I shall see what she wants to do with them afterwards. Have a great week Angela #3
ReplyDeleteDiana, love the guitar card and that yummy colorful box!! Hope he had a great birthday!! Thanks for stopping by my desk and the encouraging words on my ATC's!! Blessings for the rest of your week and weekend! Sorry, I'm just getting around! Felicia #25

Amazing lino cut guitar, you think it and do it, I love that, so precious. I guess the same could be said about me and the pond...
ReplyDeleteSorry I'm a bit late this week but I was digging a pond Wednesday then food shopping and trying to source some plants yesterday whilst the boys replaced some fence panels then I had to go clear up the garden AGAIN. Thanks for the visit BJ#9
Love the lino cut guitars, Diana - so suitable for a lad! The envelope is stunning with its bold colours and how the guitar is arranged. Fabulous! Thank you for your visit - and I'm glad you got a laugh out of the kitty bums! This project has turned out to be way more fun than I ever could have expected. When I found that pattern online I roared with laughter and just knew I had to incorporate it! The real kitties certainly have grown and it's hard to believe they were once that tiny. Cuteness overload in spades.
ReplyDeleteHappy belated WOYWW,

Feeling ruthless is the best time to go through your supplies. I go through stuff, put it in boxes to donate and then they are left in my craft room. You know what soon enough, I dig to grab something. Silly. Hey, I love those guitars - the card and the envelope. Very nice!! Sorry for the late visit. I hope you have a great week. Dorlene #33
ReplyDeleteOh Diana, you brought back memories of a lesson I did not enjoy teaching - lino cutting. It was always a bag full of sticking plasters and a prayer when teaching this class. Maybe that is why I have never taken to it myself. However, I just love that guitar. It is fantastic that you did this as a lino cut. Love the tag too - it works so well with those bright colours behind it.
ReplyDeleteSorry I am so late but back is really bad plus I have had 267 spam comments to delete since Wednesday. So time consuming, especially when you don't feel like bothering. Someone obviously is targeting me.
You take care, Hugs, Neet 5 xx
I love the guitars, Grandson is in to them at the moment, he's 5. great colours on the envelope. I keep meaning to hunt out my lino cutting stuff in the attic... still haven't, it's not easy getting up there! Stay Safe, Keep on Crafting, Happy WOYWW!? ((Lyn))#21
ReplyDeleteLove the 2 photos. Great choices. My April is full of birthdays, and I need ideas !! A little late with the visit, but between 2 days of router issues and time away I'm still trying to get printers in sync. Thanks for your visit. Enjoy the weekend.
