I'm still working my way through Randel Plowman's Collage Workbook and challenge 4 is called Colour Charge - add a colour to a black and white collage.
For this collage I used Fluid Acrylic in my favourite colour of Quinacridone/Nickel Azo Gold.
Piled up by my desk are a bundle of old magazines a very thoughtful friend has been passing on to me, so today's task will be be browsing through them for images for my next collages.
I love that colour too, so bright and in your face! I like the images you’ve been working on, very thirties inspired. Those mags look useful for future arty projects, get thos snipping scissors on the go, lol!

If the word Quinacridone is there I like it! Looks lovely with the black and white and makes for a delightful piece of collage.
ReplyDeleteHow lucky to get those magazines - they should be great for you to use - and inspire you too.

Oh the orange is brilliant against the black and white, super choice. BJ#8
ReplyDeleteYes I love that bright orange also. Any black and white pop is good but these photos are great, love the building. Have fun looking, and enjoy a super good week.
ReplyDeleteI bet you'll glean some fab ideas for your next projects from those art mags. I can lose myself for hours just browsing through mags like that! I love that splash of orange - very art deco I think. xx Jo
ReplyDeleteLove your collages. That orange is really cheery!

That's one of my favourite colours too - sort of a rusty orange. And those B&W stripes work every time! Nice and bold - unusual for you but it's good to branch out! The monochrome colour scheme makes the Nickel Azo pop even more! Love it! Thanks for your visit earlier, Diana! Wishing you a lovely week! xx zsuzsa #22
ReplyDeleteLoving the collage and the magazines look good too. The colours just work so well. It rained here this morning then picked up so some gardening did take place.
ReplyDeleteSorry forgot to add this. Think I need food right now Lol! Wishing you a very happy and creative woyww, Angela x13x
ReplyDeleteThat is a cool colour to go with the monochrome Diana - have fun leafing through the magazines. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah #1
ReplyDeleteWhat a very striking collage, Diana - I love all the boldness and contrasts. The magazines look great too - I am sure there are lots of things in there that will come in useful. Thank you for visiting, and I am glad I reminded you of the Graphics Fairy again. It's a useful resource, and great that it's free, too. Glad you enjoyed the kitty pictures! They do get into some funny places and positions sometimes.

Black and white with a pop of color is always so striking to me, and I love the color you picked to go with it! I love the rainy days that you can have an excuse to play/work inside :)
ReplyDeleteThose colours in your collage popped right out at me Diana. I love what you’re doing.
ReplyDeleteI have piles of magazines for cutting up and if we were neighbours I’d be round there with you
Lynn xx
Love your collage - I wish someone would give me some interesting magazines to cut up. I wonder what people do with their old ones, just bin them I guess. I have seen craft magazines at the the charity shops or on the free sites. Second thoughts I have enough projects on my to to list.🤣. Angela #6
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous colour that is - it really pops!! Glad you like my bottles. Tips - try not to over wet your napkin, a soft brush and a gentler touch. I am never totally wrinkle free either!! Have a good week, stay well stay safe, love n hugs Cindy #20 xx
