Colour Plunge Collage!

I've been working on challenge 5 - Colour Plunge - in Randel Plowman's Collage Workbook this week and the prompt is to make a (mostly) monochromatic collage.  I couldn't decide on which colour so ended up doing several and will probably do some more as I'm enjoying these a lot!

Just as I was about to pack up and tidy everything away yesterday evening I remembered to take a desk shot - several things are out of shot so it's actually messier than it looks - add a pair of scissors, a steel rule and another two punches!

I am linking up with Julia over at WOYWW this week.

Summer Of Color Week 3 and ICAD

This week over at the Summer of Color the challenge was to work with purple and lime green.  My immediate thought was the Iris and the garden, and I decided to do a series of index cards based on garden design and it's history - a subject I love and keep going back to.  The index cards are for the ICAD challenge over at Daisy Yellow.

Color This Quote

For this months Color This Quote challenge over at Artists in Blogland, the quote to inspire us was:
'Always be a first-rate version of yourself instead of a second-rate version of somebody else'
 Judy Garland

I used Adirondack Colour Wash inks, chalk pastels, and a stencil/mask from The Crafters Workshop.  I used an old Stampers Anonymous rubber stamp as I felt the words 'Aspire, Astonish, Amaze' really fitted in to this months theme, and I summarized the quote in keeping with the simplicity of the image - I didn't want it too 'wordy'.   I have long had a love affair with the colour combination orange and purple, and although this was going to be aqua and brown originally, I am quite pleased that in some totally inexplicable way it turned into orange and purple!
