It has been a few weeks since I posted my Tag Tuesday entries on my blog so I though I would play catch-up.
This weeks theme is 'Rock Pools and Beach Finds'. For this I used a found piece of heart shaped sea glass, which I wrapped in wire and glued to a piece of silk. I attached this to a 'mess' of ink and gel medium and added some silver flakes.
Last weeks theme was 'Swimming'. I used vintage images from the Graphics Fairy and 'somewhere else, I can't remember where'! I emulsioned the background and stamped a swirly pattern to give an underwater feel, then added some small pearls.
For the previous week the theme was 'The Beach'. I decided to keep it simple and stick to just rubber stamping (I think most of them are from Oxford Impressions). The fossils and text were embossed in gold and look quite shiny and metallic.
And that's me all caught up!
There are some fantastic tags over at Tag Tuesday - why not take a peek!
...WOW Diana...to find a piece of heart shaped Sea Glass is special, I look everytime I go to the beach... your Tag is stunning what can I say...Mel :)
ReplyDeleteMy blog buddy Mo actually sent me a piccy of your Tag yesterday & it blew me away...xx
What a treat getting to see a whole group of your tags.. Especially since they're all water/ocean themed and I'm still going through withdrawals. The top one is my favorite, how fabulous that you found heart shaped sea glass - I bet it was hard to use! Love the others too, the graphics are so darling on the swim ones, and colors and texture of the stamped ones are great - I love Oxford Impressions stamps...
ReplyDeleteGorgeous tags as always, Diana! I do love your work... The seaside theme is a great favourite of mine, and I must do more work incorporating it. Trouble is, I've got so many other things on the go!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your lovely comment - I'm glad you like my flowers! I'm having Such Fun with my new Dylusions inks. Flowers have got to take a back seat this week as my hubby has just reminded me we've got an 80th at the weekend and not many days to finish a card. Still Dylusions, but it's all butterflies at the moment! Also been working hard with the Cougar cutting machine (butterflies, aperture card & frame, sentiment - this latter also incorporating my new pen holder for the machine which is totally awesome!!) So much to do, and this horrible hot weather is playing havoc with my energy levels which doesn't help...
Penny Duncan's roses are very easy to make. If you haven't got a cutting machine she also has pdf files that you can print, and cut the pieces out by hand - takes a lot longer but still possible. She's got video tutorials on how to make up the flowers. I've made loads of the roses and love them!

I like the way the shells are tumbling off the edges of your swimming theme tags. Those vintage bathing beauties and their fish friends are a blast. Makes me want to pack for the beach now.
ReplyDeleteI love all your tags, they are pretty darned fabulous, but the latest one is just outstanding. I love the colours, the focal heart, the composition, geez, just everything about it. I covet it, lol.
ReplyDeleteI love all these tags, but the first one is my favorite. I love a beach theme because the colors are some of my favorites and because I like the beach! Beautiful tags.
ReplyDeleteHi Diana, I have been following all your tags over on Tag Tuesday. Your tags are always wonderful. Thankyou for your kind comments on my post 'Little flowers all in a Row'. In answer to your question about the distress ink, yes I use it just like a normal ink pad. My ink pad is a new one and I just inked the stem of a flower stamp. With stamping I think its's more luck than judgement.
ReplyDeleteHi Diana
ReplyDeleteYour tags are all SO beautiful....
I know we shouldn't have favourites (!) but ... the top one is extra special with its heart shaped sea glass.... I'm so glad you found it on the beach
