Bottle Brush Christmas Trees and WOYWW #272

I know it's a bit early for a lot of people but already I've been seeing deskers working on their Christmas cards, and I thought it would be nice to get organised and ahead of myself for a change!  So on my desk this week, for WOYWW, I've been making little decorations using bottle brush trees and vintage patty tins.  I also found this large silver plated bowl which will have three different sized trees on it.  So far I have glittered the trees and they are all waiting to be decorated.

  1. Diana, When I saw the title of your post I had to check the post date I thought I was looking at an old one. I love the run up to Christmas but I try to hold off until September. Only ten days to go, though, and then I can allow myself to start thinking of Christmas without feeling a bit guilty. Your bottle brush trees look beautiful.
I am guessing you will soon be getting ready to get out your Autumn coloured interiors. I love the Autumn.

  2. Now, those are just clever!! What a great idea using bottle brushes to make the trees and of course the little patty tins are the completely brilliant finishing touch. I love the soft, non Christmassy tones too, very appealing!

  3. Those are just sooo cute!! Did quite a bit for Christmas in January (yeah uber organised or what - only because I hadn't put anything away!!) but the rest has to wait till Oct 1st. Just the way my head works lol. Have a great Wednesday, Cindy #32

  4. This is something a bit different, Diana! They certainly don't look like bottle brushes any longer! I love the glass jar, and the colour scheme of the pictures is perfect, as always. Lovely subtle shades.

Thank you for your lovely comment and your kind thoughts about my friend. It's a release for her after many years of battling the cancer. I am doing my best to make the family a card that they will want to keep. "Watch this space" for a blog post about it!

    Happy WOYWW,

  8. What a great idea for mini Christmas trees. Look forward to seeing them finished.
Thanks for visiting and your comments on my Citra Solv efforts. I agree with you about the mess and the smell. It was even stronger today as the pages had been sitting in the attic overnight. I wasn't expecting that. Like you I'm unlikely to do many more.
    Have a fun week!

  9. Ahhh, I love bottle brush trees - I had a blast making all the little Christmas trees so early last year, for the Christmas show I did. It was nice not having to rush them in the middle of all the Christmas season craziness like all my usual Christmas projects - plus you'll have them all ready to go as soon as it's time to decorate!

  13. I saw Christmas cards in a store over two weeks ago!

Not too early - you are getting ahead and saving yourself panic and stress later....

How do you make them? I love the vintage feel to them and would love to make some. Its so cold and miserable at the moment I am in the mood for cosy/christmassy projects! I just put the heating on :(

What a lovely post btw it warmed me up a bit!
