For WOYWW this week I don't have much on my desk - I have managed to spend a week making a pin cushion - yes, just one! Being in the throes of decorating I was quite pleased that I managed to get something done at all! I decided to use a little vintage patty tin and some favourite fabric scraps with bees on - it's the start of my Christmas gift making - see how organised I am!
You are very organised - go to top of the class :)
ReplyDeleteI love your sweet pin cushion.... its so pretty.

Aahh, that is so pretty! The perfect combo of tones and texture. Where do you find the vintage tins from? They make a great base for your various projects - I wouldn't have thought of that in a million years!! And the lighting in your pic is, once again, marvellous...sigh.....

ReplyDeleteI love it, Diana! What a great gift it will make! I wish I was that organized!
ReplyDeleteHi Diane. How organised you are! It's beautiful that pin cushion. Do you do online tutorials? I'd love to learn how to do that. I'm a beginner lace maker and have several lace making friends. (Pin cushions are always needed by lace makers)

Lovely pin cushion Diane. The photo is very good, you must have a good place where you do your photography, the light is very good.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting me and have a great week crafting, Angela x 44
What a fabulous idea, the little tin really makes it look great and I love that bee fabric. Goodness me the thought of Christmas makes me shudder, that's a last minute thing for me every year. Have fun with the decorating.

Your little pincushion is just gorgeous, Diana. The bee design is one of my favourite themes. I've just got a large bee stamp very like that and think it would go well on fabric! You certainly are organised for Christmas. I'm afraid I tend to try not to think about it lol!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your two lovely comments. I am so glad you enjoyed my experiences at the Kaffe Fassett exhibition - I thought about you, and especially when I saw the gorgeous cushion with the moth on it! I've been looking at the photo up close and love the way he's created a shadow under the wings - it really stands out against that fabulous subtle two-tone background. I am so thrilled that you posted about the exhibition and we got the chance to go - it's an experience I shall feed off for some time! I bought his DVD, "Kaffe's Colour Quest" which was worth every single penny! I was so encouraged to hear him talking the way I do when I'm out and about, seeing colour and pattern everywhere, and photographing all the things that my family think are totally weird!!
The avocado dye is amazing, isn't it. I am so looking forward to the felt class. I am hoping to dye a bit more wool today. I shall be blogging soon about the charity shop stash I got the other day as I've finally got round to photographing it all. I'll also be doing one about the envelope punch board soon but it always takes me so long to do the videos!
Have a great week.
Shoshi
