I was so thrilled to be asked recently to do a blog post for Paper Artsy, on the theme of stencils.
The finished piece was a little boat surrounded by coral and filled with seashells and other special treasures! Step by step instructions and information on the techniques I used are on their blog here.
Gobsmackingly gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful Diana. Congrats!

This is gorgeous Diana, well done on being asked to guest design, I shall pop on over to PA now x
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, I love everything about that Diana, what a great idea to make something like that on an old book cover. I need to make one for my ocean themed bathroom!
ReplyDeleteHow fantastic, Diana! This is so beautiful! And, how exciting to be asked to design for Paper Artsy. Your work is so beautiful you certainly deserve to be invited.
ReplyDeleteWow, wow, wow! The textures and color scheme here are awesome! Heading over to Paper Artsy to see the details.... xxx Lynn
ReplyDeleteReally loved seeing this on the blog tonight, Diane. I am so in awe of the freshness and originality of your lovely work! You are truly an inspiration! xxx
ReplyDeleteSorry I just mis-typed your name as Diane - I meant Diana! xx
ReplyDeleteLooks stunning Diana! I'll hop over for a closer look, can't wait to see how you made this....
ReplyDeleteI am not surprised you were asked, your work is gorgeous and quite unique which is so refreshing. I love the sea theme, especially the note in the bottle. Elaine
ReplyDeleteWhenever I visit, I just want to go out to the local craft store and make something creative, but then I would have no place to display it. You are amazing, so talented!
ReplyDeleteThis is so beautiful Diana, loved it on the PA blog, a stunning piece of artwork! Ruth xx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work !
ReplyDeleteOh Diana, that is stunning. I love how the brown branching coral makes such a lovely contrast with the white. What an exquisite piece.

That is fabulous! Love the cool white with the strong dashes of color from the coral and the paint on the hull of the boat, as well as the border. Lots of texture and interest, it's great!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your two lovely comments, Diana - I'm definitely feeling a bit better today and we went out for a short outing to look at the sea this p.m. OK I was shattered afterwards but it's a step in the right direction! So glad you enjoyed my 3-D needle felting. I've done a bit on flat pieces too but it's the same principle. I love how you can build up so gradually with little whisps of wool roving - it is so controllable! I'm so looking forward to feeling better because I've got so many ideas rushing around in my head but still lack the motivation to do anything much. Only a few days left till my next treatment and I'm just hoping it doesn't completely flatten me again...

This is just too gorgeous, love it. Happy crafting, Angela x
ReplyDeleteSo pretty.... I love the anchor/message in a bottle.
