Winter Embroideries

Goodness, it hardly seems possible a whole year has passed by and I am now back to working on my winter garden embroideries!
These two have finally been finished off after being rudely interrupted by the arrival of Spring last year!

I am linking up with Julia over at WOYWW this week.

  1. Oh Diana, these are just exquisite... Your use of the lace is a master-stroke. Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous! I think your winter-themed ones are my absolute favourite... or maybe the night time ones? Hard to choose!!

No project to show chez-Shosh this week but an increasingly tidy studio lol!

    Happy WOYWW,

  3. Thanks for your visit, Diana - yes, like you I prefer a clutter-free environment, but that doesn't mean I'm a particularly tidy worker, because I'm not! As for Mr. Mojo, I think the trouble is that he is too preoccupied with Mrs. Muse batting her eyelashes at him since their return from their naughty holiday and it's high time they started focusing their attention on Shoshi!

  4. These are so beautiful,Diana. I haven't done any textile art for ages and as I am doing out my art room I am hopeing to have a space where I can leave my sewing machine out to prompt me to do some sewing. These winter embroideries have filled me with inspiration.

  5. How beautiful, Diana - I love those little rusty touches of decay amidst the delicate ivory and cream tones, and the tiny leaves and flower heads are exquisite.

  9. Stunning artwork! Why did you have to put it away when spring came? Is it because it's a winter piece and you were no longer in a wintery mood? That wouldn't stop me! Beautiful photos! I love the burnt texture at the bottom!

  13. Wow, oh wow, Diana. This is simply incredible stitching. I can't grip a needle, so this seems really magical to me.

Thanks for visiting while I slept. You asked about the tea. Since nothing ever goes to waste at my place, the tea is simply left over from the tea bags that I'll be sharing in a tutorial on Thursday (tomorrow). Please drop by if you are curious. Happy WOYWW from #2.

  22. So beautiful Diana, the delicate embroidery and merging of different fabrics, done so seamlessly is stunning! The touches of rust add so much depth with the little pearls lifting the composition and giving it that bit of wintry sparkle, - I can't wait to see how this series will continue! Amazing and inspirational work like always!
