More Winter Houses

I have been enjoying working on these little houses so much!
The plants were collected around late Autumn time and pressed for winter use.
They looked too Spring-like, so I rollered them with gesso!  I added seeds, pearls and buttons, and the addition of glitter has helped to give them a frosty look.

I'm linking up with Julia over at WOYWW to see what other people have on their desks this week!

  2. Only you could gesso plants! But doesn't it make a huge difference? They would have been too highly coloured before and now they fit in beautifully. I really do love this series of little houses, anything architectural floats my boat! We're looking forward to seeing you next week, will email to finalise arrangements :-)

  17. Hi again, Diana. Thank you for visiting. The green swirly patterned card piece is simply a stencil taped on to the card, then a variety of different coloured glittery embossing pastes put over it using a palette knife. Incredibly easy - but I'm glad you liked it. Mrs D taught me whilst we were having our playday - she's really good at it - I just had to remember to get the stencil off quickly enough before the paste went hard!!!
    Take care. God bless.

  18. I'm just in from my afternoon school run and having done the morning school run and a full day of sewing in between I'm feeling rather jaded but as you can imagine those little ones never fail to put a smile on my face so it's all worth it.
Thanks for dropping by at mine earlier.
They are so pretty....I really love the effects you've got.

  19. Thank you for your visit, Diana, and you made me roar with laughter at your comment about taking a swig of your dirty paint water!!! I've neve gone THAT far yet lol!! After drinking all that paint, you must have mixed media insides as well as making it on the outside haha!!

So glad you like my kitty page. Only got to do the text and then it will be finished. I'm feeling a lot better now after having had a few days' rest, and today I'm busy making samosas. I must to some baking tomorrow to take to the KnitterNatter craft group in the evening. Maybe I'll have another session in the studio this week but who knows? Busy busy busy!
