It's been such a busy week but I managed to find time to make a card and matching tag for my husband's birthday tomorrow. I wanted something that wouldn't be too flowery, so I added a rusty washer and some clay pipe stems!
I'm linking up with Julia over at What's On Your Work Desk Wednesday to see what other people have been doing this week.
Morning Diana. Well done. Great card and tag. Hope hubby really liked it.
ReplyDeleteTake care. God bless.

Only you could take something like rusty washers and bits of clay pipe and make a gorgeous card out of them!! I don't know how you do it, but everything just fits..like the twine and ink blotches too. You is a clever gal๐๐

Very creative! Love the washer and the pipe stems (though I have no idea what they are!) All the bits harmonize perfectly! All your cards and designs are very unique! OK, too many exclamation marks, but I can't help it! Happy WOYWW! zsuzsa #26 (!)
ReplyDeleteHi Diana, I do love the colours and ephemera used on the tag and cards.
ReplyDeleteThe storage I'm very happy with, it takes a little working out to make the compartments the right size for the relevant bottles, as they do vary, and you need 7 count plastic canvas, not the 10 count. I got mine from Amazon, in a pack of 12 sheets. This was the lady's blog I followed the pin to: http://sharonscraps.blogspot.co.uk/2012/07/how-to-make-your-own-organizing-system.html.Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz #7 xx
o, you just reminded me that I should make a masculine card tonight for a birthday Friday. Like the 3D effect you've created and the splatters. Happy WOYWW, Vicky #8
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Diana. I love the way you have doubled up on the tags and also love your choice of colour.
ReplyDeleteThose are beautiful! Very natural and masculine, I like it.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Happy belated birthday to the Mr.!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tag! I always love the way you take your photographs. They are just beautiful.

Diana, your husband is sure to love this - how could he not! Love the very organic nature of the card. The bamboo die is gorgeous and works beautifully with the clay pipe pieces and rust. Hugs, Autumn
ReplyDeleteI love how rustic and woodsy it is! Gorgeous. This is a card he should frame. Happy Wednesday! Sandy Leigh #61
ReplyDeleteClay pipe stems. I mean, how on earth did you think of that! It's a lovely card, better yet, you got a tag out of it too. Happy Birthday to your dear one!
ReplyDeletefab !!! I would never think to use a bit of clay pipe ( where do you even find them?!) Its perfect. Have a great week . soojay 22
ReplyDeleteThese are gorgeous Diana. Bit late today as I've been out walking.... yes walking not crafting, so trying to catch-up a bit.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the visit to mine and happy woyww, Angela x 25
What beautiful art you've created with those pieces. I love the greens and browns.

Oh this is stunning yet again Diana!! The background is wonderful already, but then I love the kind of shadow effect of the darker die cuts with the lighter ones in front, so clever that. The clay pipe stems are such a brilliant addition that finish it off to perfection. I totally love the rustic appeal of this and the little tag is the perfect companion to it too, yet again you have completely inspired me, I so LOVE your work!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat card and tag Diana! Love the randomly crackled background! When in doubt, chuck in a rusty washer I say! Xx
ReplyDeleteOooh this is gorgeous, Diana! I bet your hubby loved it. I haven't joined in WOYWW again this week because I've done nothing and my studio is a tip - far too busy with other things and getting too tired, but I'm hoping things will start to settle down soon!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful make. Take care Zo xx
ReplyDeleteReally charming - the clay pipe stems are so unusual and beautiful as an embellishment, and I love the layered leaves in 2D and 3D.

Thank you for your lovely comment, Diana - and you certainly didn't ramble - what you said was very interesting. We are very fortunate to live in an older house although there are quite a few maintenance problems that arise and have to be dealt with. We are blessed with quite a few original features and it's nice to emphasise these and to redecorate senstively. I have a nice modern kitchen but have retained the old fitted larder cupboards and dado rails, so we've got the best of both worlds. What you say about antique furniture in modern houses is very true. I think sometimes it works better the other way around - well-chosen ultra modern furniture can look stunning in a vintage setting! I am very interested in architecture and interior design and I like an imaginative approach as much as possible. I will be posting about our redecoration project as soon as it's completed, with some before and after photos, and I hope you will approve!!
ReplyDeleteWe are very fortunate in being able to use Mum's sitting room while the work is being done, and we can close the door on the mess. He is being very quick and efficient, with great attention to detail - lovely that he is such a perfectionist, and his charges are very reasonable, too!
Have a great weekend. Next week I really hope I can get back into my studio, start tidying it up, and getting down to some art again.
