Stocking Up on Birthday Cards

I haven't done much crafty stuff this last couple of weeks, having spent a huge amount of time recovering lost files when the hard drive corrupted - I hadn't backed up since December! Totally my fault which is so much more frustrating!
I also had a lovely time catching up with Julia and Lunch Lady Jan for lunch - lots of laughter, chatter and yummy food - thank you so much ladies!

I did find time to make a few quick and easy cards for some birthdays coming up in the next few weeks.  I am still using the stamp set and matching die that I have been using in previous posts (see here)!

I am linking up with Julia over at Stamping Ground

  1. Hello Diana. Those cards are just beautiful The effects are so different in the different colourways, aren't they? Well done.
Aaargh! Computers!!! Love'em, hate 'em in equal measure. SOooo frustrating when things go missing, though. Hubby put windows 10 on our laptop the other day - and it lost all of our files. I think it took him about 10minutes to decide to go back to Windows 7 - although he tells me he is trying again.... Watch this space, obviously...
    Take care. God bless.

  2. It was so fab to see you again - do you think Stockbridge has recovered yet? LOL :-)
Well, you have given us more gorgeousness this Wednesday morning - I love them all, the details are fantastic but my favourite is the beautiful turquoise one at the beginning. LUSH! Hope your computer woes have finished now....

  8. Gorgeous cards in various colour schemes! Simple and elegant! I'm really drawn to the blue ones. We had a hard drive failure last year as well. I lost a few files too but nothing important. I know I should be backing stuff up every few weeks, but I always forget. It's really just the family photos I'm worried about - everything else is replaceable. Have a lovely week! zsuzsa #47

And thank you for the reminder that I need to back up my files, too *eep*

  18. Oh your cards are stunning. I am totally blown away by how you have put the colours together to give every card a different look. Beautiful.
It's great to get together with others isn't it. I'm glad you all had a good time.
Sorry I´m late. I had my new computer today and I have been fiddling about with that but now I have everything going. (I am typing this on my new keyboard, which is Spanish, so I am constantly looking for things that are in a different place). I still have to sort out the printer and some speakers, but the system works!
Have a great week and thanks for visiting me earlier.

  19. Those cards are fab. I'd be interested to know what sort of envelope / packaging you use yo keep these beautiful pieces of work safe in transit! How frustrating about your hard drive. I had the same a few years ago when I dropped my laptop in a fall on the stairs and hadn't backed up. Never again! Happy crafting, Max #51 :-)

    1. Thank you Tilly! I usually wrap them up in tissue paper like a gift and put them in a padded envelope to post - they seem to be quite resilient despite Royal Mail's rough handling!

What a shame your hard drive corrupted. Hope you managed to get most of it back.

  21. Beautiful creations which are incredibly elegant.
There is something so organic about each card, the colour palettes might vary but it definitely brings to mind, for me, the sky, the ocean and earth.

  23. Oh no - so sorry to hear about your computer collapse - such a nightmare when that happens, and you suddenly realise how dependent you are on it!

Your "quick and easy" cards are absolutely gorgeous... love the inky backgrounds and beautifully composed flowers and grasses. Wonderful combinations of 2D and 3D florals.

  24. Stunning collection of cards Diana, and they look far from "quick and easy" to me... Can't decide which colour way I like best, they are all stunning! Sorry to hear about your hard drive problems, - it's one of my biggest nightmares.... hope you managed to recover most files.

  28. Oh Diana, all these cards are just dreamy... sooo beautiful! Each one will be treasured by its recipient, I know. I have now got that flower stamp set and am looking forward to starting to use it - no chance to do so just yet! I didn't buy the die as I thought the shape was simple enough for fussy cutting but I can always get it if I change my mind. Thank you for your lovely comment - where my port came out is tender to the touch but it's healing well, and I'm no longer needing pain killers. It still seems strange not to have it - nothing to fiddle with any longer lol!! With Phoebe, all we can do is hope that she has no further seizures as the phenobarbital builds up in her system. Fortunately they haven't been too frequent but it is very distressing for her and she needs lots of comforting afterwards.

    Happy belated WOYWW,

  29. PS Forgot to say - so sorry about your computer woes. I have got into the habit of backing up every file as I create it - it's not too much effort once you get used to doing it. I have lost far too much stuff in the past - including sleep lol!! I hope you've managed to restore all the lost files.

  30. Oh, L love these weeds, Diana! Each one is stunning, and I looking at how you've used the same elements with such distinctly different effects with just a few changes - very inspirational! So sorry to hear about the computer problems.... Never fun. But glad you are getting back to your beautiful work! xxxx Lynn
