Autumn and Halloween

Well here's a rare photo of my desk - I'm in the middle of making some autumn gift tags and as I'm making 3 there seems to be loads more mess on the table than usual.  I have been using foil and die-cut leaves - I feel they look promising but to be honest anything can happen!  They will either be finished by next week or the whole lot will be dumped in a box and never seen again!!

I've also just finished a birthday card...

...and a couple of Halloween cards.  They are all using the same three colours and the same Physalis/Chinese Lanterns die, but hopefully the birthday one (above) doesn't look too Halloweeny!
I'm finding this little church die very versatile and have used it in previous posts here and here for Christmas cards.

...and finally a Trick or Treat bag for my sister - I always try and have some more grown-up sweets for her when she brings my nephews round Trick or Treating !

I'm linking up with Julia over at What's On Your Work Desk Wednesday, why not pop over and see what other people have on their desks today.

  3. I don't know where to start.....the array of gorgeousness today is possibly even more stunning than last week. That Halloween card is the best I've ever seen, I love the splatters, solours, die cuts but most of all, the drop shadow on the word BOO. Genius. And the tags are wonderful too, please don't box/bin them, they're too beautiful!

  6. Your papers and leaves looks just gorgeous, certainly no need to throw them unfinished into the box, lol .I love what I see , already, Diana.
Also your other wonderful cards, so amazing , with the spookiness in the circle, of two of them .- LOVE that church, and how you use it so differently .

  12. I'm not big on halloween, Diana, but oooh I just adore the colours, and your work in progress on the tags is just stunning, with the leaves and backgrounds. I love the spattering on the background of the second card, too. The circular format always works well, doesn't it!

Thank you for your visit - I'm with you on cute animals and food lol!! With kitties and cake, what more do you need? (Well, a bit of art now and then, I suppose!!) Lily is growing into a very naughty girl indeed and simply won't come when called, although she's as good as gold during training sessions. Ruby is much better behaved! Health problems ongoing, but hoping for some proper action soon if I can persuade my surgeon to do it. No appointment yet.

    Happy WOYWW,

  16. Gorgeous cards. I don't think the birthday one is too Halloweeny - it's exquisitely autumnal. I love the Physalis/Church variations and I think it's lovely of you to have a special grown-up treat bag ready for your sister. Oh, and I hope those tags don't disappear into a box, though I know how easily it can happen!

  19. Thank you for your return visit, Diana and I'm glad to have inspired you with circles haha! I'm feeling so chuffed with my weight loss especially now that I can reach over my shoulder to pat myself on the back when I get nice feedback like that!! I always feel great when you say I've inspired you lol!! Looking again at your cards a bit more closely, I love how you've die-cut the circles from the inked backgrounds and got the embossed border too. This is a technique I must try. I wanted to make larger circles for my cards and was being so vague and foggy that I limited myself to my circle punches, forgetting all about the circle dies I've got! Duh... It definitely is time I got my card making skates on again and got over this silly attitude about not wanting to make them. Thank YOU for inspiring ME!

Having yet another rough day today so I'm resting... again... Still no news from the hospital about an appointment.

  20. I'm late, sorry. Makes no difference, your desk is still a thrill, I just love these patterns for foils. And frankly Diana, in your hands, anything is gorgeous. No the lanterns dont make the birthday card look Halloween-y and I also thin that only you could look at that die and think it so versatile!

  21. This post is just the essence of Fall! I'm so intrigued by the different textures on the leaves you're creating in the first pic, can't wait to see the finished product. And the wonderful cards - so beautifully intricate! I hope you enjoyed Halloween and that your wicked sister enjoyed her bag!
