I'm enjoying my current obsession with moss and have been playing about with the bright green velvet - I'm just about to start
embroidering on these little doodles.
I have also made some ATC's and have 6 spare, so if anyone would like to swap please let me know.
I am linking up with Julia over at WOYWW for our 9th Anniversay so do pop over if you'd like to see what other people have on their desks too.
And a BIG thank you to Julia who does an amazing job running it and creating such a lovely, friendly and supportive community - it's an absolute pleasure to be part of it all.

Morning Diana. Happy 9th anniversary. Your work is so lovely - those colours are fantastic - so real. Moss is an amazing thing, isn't it - so bright and vivid in the darkest spots.
ReplyDeleteTake care. God bless.

Hi Diana, loving your experiments with the green velvet. Happy 9th Birthday, Have a lovely week, Love & Hugs, Shaz #6 XxX
ReplyDeleteGoodness, this is absolutely gorgeous. The green velvet really DOES look like moss. Do you empty the teabag before you doodle/draw on it?
ReplyDeleteHope you are enjoying the party. Happy 9th anniversary from #13.
I thoroughly dry the teabag after using it and then empty it with a little cut through one side only. I also iron vilene (collar stiffening fabric) onto the back if I'm going to sew with the machine as that makes it stronger.

Silk rods and cocoons are so beautiful and your artwork is lovely. It used to be by passion working in silk and embroidery.

I'd love to swap, Diana! I still have a spare ATC - it will just be in a different envelope from the other ones. Can you email me your address to karolysmith at aol dot com? LOVE your teabag and moss project and you always take such good photos - I have dozens of tea bags drying - no idea what I'm going to do with them yet, but I'm sure they will come in handy! I just love their texture - it would be a sacrilege throwing them away! Then again, we can't collect them indefinitely LOL! Unless for a VERY big project. OK, I'll stop babbling. Thanks so much for your visit! If you send me your address tonight, I can post the ATC tomorrow morning. Happy anniversary! zsuzsa #8
ReplyDeleteLoving your love affair with the green! Helen #4

ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW 9! yes moss fascinates me too - I think it is one of my earliest memories as a child - studying all the different ones in our back yard and garden and imagining tiny people living amongst the minute" landscapes". xx Jo

Happy Belated 9th Birthday WOYWW. I was up early this morning with a random allergic reaction (ok as soon as I take a tablet), so catching up on blogging. I sat outside in the sunshine with my Kindle yesterday. Wonderful greens in your photo. Green is one of my favourite colours - and one of the walls in my craft room is a particularly bright shade. I have sent you a message via Facebook with my address to swap an ATC. Planning to get them finished and in the post today. Ali x #19
ReplyDeleteMoss, jewel colours and ‘doodles’, all absolutely the sort of things I expect to find here when I visit, and as usual, my breath is taken! Must say that velvet on that teabag looks amazing doesnt it, and I need to ask that we get to see it once you’ve waved your magic-touch needle over those pieces too!
ReplyDeleteYour work is always amazing Diana, and this is no exception, that bright green just sings to me!!
ReplyDeleteGlorious vivid spring green colour - I hope we'll get to see those doodles once they've had the magic touch from your embroidery needle! Beautiful, as always. I always come away from visiting you feeling happy about art, nature and creativity.

Oooh gorgeous gorgeous moss, Diana! I love that green velvet, and I hope you've got plenty of supplies so you can continue to delight us with your creations! It is so moss-like!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your visit and your great comments - I just knew you would love those moths! I was completely blown away, and am dying to try making some. The antennae are made from peacock feather filaments. So glad you enjoyed reading about our lovely day at the show. I managed to finish the card last night and my hubby is delighted with it, and instantly recognised the County Show inspiration! He loves the way the heart is suspended and turns in the aperture. You can see the completed card on my blog. In return, he has made me a beautiful card, a pen and watercolour of two dear little teddies holding hands! It's on some gorgeous hand-made paper that I'd forgotten he bought when we were on holiday a few years ago.
Happy belated WOYWW,
Shoshi x #29
Happy Anniversary! Wow, what gorgeous projects you are working on. I can tell one is a teabag but not sure of the other. Either way, super pretty! Have a great week. Dorlene #40
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary not taking part this year but am trying to visit everyone who has posted. Love the mossy idea, is the teabag emptied and dried or just dried. Ani #3
ReplyDeleteHi Ani,
DeleteI dry the teabag first and then empty it. I also iron Vilene (collar stiffening fabric) onto the back before sewing on the machine as this strengthens it.

Thanks for that tip Diana

ReplyDeleteGlad I took time to catch up a bit. Loving this post. Your beautiful teabag are has sure brightened my day. Appreciate your stiffening idea. I've lots of dried teabags and hopefully can get to them soon. I'd love one of your ATC's, but I'm a little late to partake. Enjoy a wonderful week.
ReplyDeleteGreen is one of my most favorite colours and I adore anything Moss...LOL my neighbors go about killing it and I go about transplanting it.
