It was the Hub's birthday this week and I made him a gardening themed card as he has decided to throw himself wholeheartedly into growing vegetables this year - life is revolving around seedlings and grow-bags at the moment!
I used real seeds glued in little rows and also a larger seed glued into each texture paste circle, just as if they are in their own little pots. Glossy Accents was used for the moisture drops on the vellum and also on the circles.
I'm linking up with Julia over at WOYWW this week.
What a fabulously clever card Diana. If your hubby is anything like mine he will love and treasure it I'm sure.

Hi Diana, that is an amazingly clever card! Love the details, and the trowel! Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #1 X
ReplyDeletePretty card, My hub does a lot of gardening. I don't help, plant, weed, water, or work ground. I love what he brings in, I freeze or we enjoy with meals. It's a LOT of work on both parts for 2 of us. He gives a LOT away. Has just never been able to cut back. Just not my thing!!! Have a great week Happy Woyww
ReplyDeleteIt is wonderful Diana, so sweet idea with the real seeds, and the moisture drops, looks as if it just rained . I love the details of the plant and showel, and your lovely colors !

I love it, Diana! I'm sure your hubby will too. The use of real seeds is an inspiration and that adorable little trowel just sets it off! Lovely fresh spring colours, too. It's really great.
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting, and for your good wishes for my surgeon's appointment next week - it will be interesting, I am sure! My teeth are much better today and seem to have settled down - it was all pretty traumatic but I'm glad it's all over and done with now. So glad you like my fun new slippers! They were just a blank canvas demanding to be embellished and I'm going to have fun with that. As for my blog photos, it's really tedious and boring but I think I've got them all up now for this week's WOYWW post - as long as they don't mysteriously disappear again! Not a word of any progress on the Open Live Writer forum despite a lot of people complaining that posting images is a real problem... Hope they extract digit soon and get things running smoothly again!
Happy WOYWW and I hope your hubby has a very happy birthday and enjoys his gorgeous card!

ReplyDeleteHi Diana, fantastic card for a gardener - love the little trowel. Your work is always inspiring! Mr M has just finished my veg garden makeover, just waiting for him to finish the planters for the fruit bushes, then ready to plant stuff. But ... I'm not green fingered! Thanks for stopping by earlier, I'm fully recovered thank you. Have a lovely week Heather x #14

ReplyDeleteI love the textures on this card...simply stunning. Thanks for sharing, sorry I’m late. Have a lovely week. Caro x(#10)
ReplyDeleteWhat a good idea to use all those seeds on that lovely card, and very appropriate for a keen gardener. Years ago , I used bark from my silver birches and cherry trees, and you have inspired me to go for that again. xxx Maggie (Silvercrafter) #11
ReplyDeleteOh I love it! you are patient with fiddly stuff aren’t you, so admirable. I know your man will have loved the card too...I wonder if he’s picked off a couple of the seeds to plant to find out what they are!!
ReplyDeleteI missed this last week, but I saw it pop up on my blog roll and had to come take a closer look. Love that little tool (it must be so tiny) and those seeds and the water droplets are genius! So much attention to tiny details!
ReplyDeleteOoh - I seem to have missed this one, but what a glorious card. The textures are tantalising. I love the formal rows of seeds broken into by the tangled chaos of the newly emerging stems and shoots. The droplets of dew, and the seeds resting in the broken textured circles all add to the delight, and the tiny trowel is a wonderful finishing touch. Superb!

I've played catch up on a few sweet posts of yours. I miss not having time to visit, but life here has been off the wall crazy. Love this card for your hubby, Mine always enjoys doing a garden, not me, but I will cook/freeze the vegetables and enjoy eating the goodness of freshness. But weather here has been good for nothing outdoors. Cold, windy and lots of rain. Enjoy a great week, and know that I love your design works.
