Art, ATC's and Organisation!

I've been busy sewing this week, working my way through a big basket of mending that has been accumulating for about a year!  What this has to do with WOYWW is that earlier in the week I spent ages trying to thread a very fine needle only to discover despite glasses, that I was trying to thread the wrong end of it -  so as if by magic the Hubs found an old magnifying glass in his shed for me.  I really shouldn't moan about him never throwing anything out should I!
Also on my desk is a small ATC storage holder that is waiting to be decorated - perhaps I'll get round to it soon - or perhaps not!

I have had some wonderful mail this week, firstly this beautiful
piece of artwork from the super talentedTerri over at Art Life Rust.  I have been a fan of Terri's amazing work for such a long time and am thrilled to own one of her beautiful botanical pieces.  Thank you so much Terri, it will be greatly treasured.

I also received some gorgeous ATC's.
This little bundle on the left is from Neet and I just love the painted cockerel card so much, I shall be framing it shortly.  The other ATC's (clockwise from top left) are from Lunch Lady Jan with a beautiful card she sent made by Debbie (Tattered Rocks), Sylvia (Little Treasures) who sent the prettiest ATC along with some gorgeous collage pieces and Shaz Silverwolf whose sparkly and celebratory ATC was gorgeous, and so appropriate for the anniversary!
Thank you so much ladies.
I'm linking up with Julia over at WOYWW this week.

  1. I love that artwork from Terri, can understand you being an admirer of her work, it is beautiful.
Am not sure my teabag cockerel deserves a frame, it's just a card with a painted teabag on it. So glad you like cockerels though and would have loved to have kept hens. I would enjoy the egg part of keeping them but when my friend had some I remember one in particular who would peck you when you walked in the pen it was in. Think it was more its flying up and flapping that scared me when I think of it.
Have a lovely week and keep using the magnifier.
    Hugs, Neet 5 xx

  2. Oh mending ! Mine piles up also. I am enjoying all the ATC's being posted. And I am determined to visit ALL this week. With our high humidity, I'll be staying inside ! Thanks the beautiful mail. Enjoy a great week

  3. Ah, the mending! Apparently those who mend clothes are a dying breed, but I can't bear to throw away something that might have some use left in it. Obviously in common with you Hubs and his garage full of useful bits.
    Thanks for sharing

  5. Hahaha Diana, you trying to thread a needle at the wrong end!! Fabulous looking magnifier though - you should be able to see anything with that monster! I love the little ATC holder and no doubt you will make it a work of art in itself when you get around to decorating it. Nice set of ATCs you've got, too! Thank you for your visit, and I'm glad I have reminded you about the Angelina fibres. I don't use them very often but once it a while they get fished out. Thank you for your birthday and anniversary wishes. May is always a busy time for celebrations but especially so this year with it being my hubby's 70th. Thank you also for your good wishes for my PIP claim. The form finally went off yesterday so now we've just got to wait. I think all I did yesterday was sleep - I was completely wiped out and felt very poorly indeed. New wheelchair demo tomorrow which is a treat to look forward to after all that stress!

I'm not joining in WOYWW this week because there's nothing to show.

  6. Hi Diana! I like the idea of your ATC storage. I just put mine into a mini drawer unit for now. The magnifying glass is indeed a great find and very handy especially that it has a stand alone frame - I find I can't see anything up close without my glasses and even they are not sharp enough for some jobs. Beautiful artwork indeed and some lovely cards and ATCs received! Swapping is so much fun! Happy #522! zsuzsa #26

  9. Oh I have a lot of sympathy for the needle thing...it’s a towel bigger! Love the big old magnifier, it’s like a windscreen! Art from Terri is wonderful, it makes me smile to think that you’re a fan of hers in the same way I’m a fan of yours!

  11. Hi Diana, cute little ATC box. The artwork from Terri is beautiful. So many talented people about! And that is certainly one hefty magnifying glass you have there, well done hubby! I sympathise you with trying to thread the wrong end of the needle - been there, done that! I'm visiting my daughter next weekend, and need to take my sewing machine as she bought a brand new outfit for a wedding, and tripped and ripped it - so a bit of magic mending is required! Have a lovely week, Heather xx #6

  13. I am so sorry to have taken so long to visit. Unfortunately, my electricity was off this afternoon and into the night due to the storms. Now it is back on and I'm trying to play catch up.

How thoughtful of your husband with the magnifier. And I like your ATC holder. I keep mine in sleeves originally designed for baseball cards. They are stored in 3 ring binders. I'm on my 3rd binder and each binder holds 20 sleeves of 18 ATCs. Do the math. It's LOTS (grin). I love the ones you got from WOYWWers. There is so much love in this community, isn't there? Happy WOYWW from #3.

  17. I'm chuckling at your needle problem because I have done exactly the same thing! My glasses do help - if only I bothered to wear them. Lovely ATCs/artwork there today. xx jo

  21. Thank you for your visit, Diana, and absolutely no worries about not replying immediately! I don't mind a bit about that, and it's just nice to get comments as and when people can manage it. I'm glad you liked the kitty pics. I do sometimes get rather hot with both of them on me, but most of the time it's comforting to have two quite solid heavy warm little lumps on me! The way the weather is at the moment, I'm glad of the extra warmth! When the weather is very hot, they don't want to come on our laps because they get too hot themselves. We are very happy that the wheelchair is coming in 2 months rather than 4 - hopefully we'll have some nice summer weather left to enjoy it. It was great fun trying it out! I've been thinking of all the things I'll be able to do.

Hope to see you next week with some more projects. I'm still really tired after all the strain of completing my PIP form and I'm also catching up with other stuff that's been neglected, but I'm hoping to get back to creating again soon.

Happy WOYWW even if you're not joining in this week!
