A Little Bit of Organising and WOYWW

On my desk this week is a little task I've been meaning to do for ages.  As my eyes get older I'm finding it harder to read the sizes on some of my knitting needles and crochet hooks, so I've been embroidering the sizes onto the pockets.

I want to say a big thank you for all the kind words and good wishes about my hand - the healing has been a slow process and I've had a complication but I'm very lucky and thankful it's livable with and not too restrictive now - it's little steps!

I'm linking up with Julia over at WOYWW this week.

  1. Hi Diana
What a great idea to add the sizes, you’ll know what’s missing then. Think I might pinch that idea for my needle roll. Not that I knit much but it would be good to be more organised.
Sounds like you’re managing ok with your hand now.

  3. Good to keep hearing the news that your hand is getting there bit by bit. Such a downer when you are a crafter to have hands that don't work as they should.
I love your needle roll - did you make it originally - by that I mean before you put the embroidery on it? That is a great idea - me, it would have been via biro or felt tip, I am no stitcher and certainly embroidery has me beaten.
    Take care

  4. What a clever idea - and beautifully executed, of course. Sorry to hear that things have been slower than hoped with the hand, but every step forwards is a good one.

  5. That's a very good idea Diana, a beautiful way of personalising even if you do not knit as often as you may have it makes your tool case very unique to you. Your crochet hooks are beautiful btw, i'm not a knitter and can not crochet but after seeing your scrubbies in your last post that I missed It makes me want to start. Amazing & ever inspirational thank you for sharing.
Wishing you all the best with your hand, baby steps are better than non, Take care & Happy WoywW Tracey #10

  6. So glad your hand is a little better - these things seem to take so long to heal and get back to normal. I love your little needle roll. I made one but mine is not so pretty and I wish I made it big enough to add the neat little sizes!

  9. So glad to hear your hand is slowly improving, Diana. It certainly is a long slow process, and I hope it continues. Your embroidered numbers look printed, they are so accurate! Beautifully done, and what a good idea. The pouch itself is a little work of art and quite delightful.

    Happy WOYWW,

  12. Good news on your hand improving. My first thought seeing your photo was lace making tools. I love old wooden sewing/crafty items. I too have issues with eyes. I've started to use Bold print on my blog otherwise always use cheap readers. Enjoy a good week.

  15. Thank you for visiting my blog, Diana, and I'm glad you like my Zentangle-related drawings. You should definitely give it a try if you feel the urge! It is very relaxing and so portable, too - easy to do if you are out and about and having to wait, or on your lap in front of the TV! You are right about the kitties being so big. They weigh a ton these days, especially when you've got two of them lying on top of each other! They do keep one nice and warm, though.
