This little winter collage is sitting on my work table at the moment, and I've been wondering what else needs to be done to it - something does but I'm not sure what! It was inspired by my garden which has little houses in it to help the wild life through the winter - a couple of hedgehog houses and several bee and insect houses. I was keeping the nest image for a more Spring-like collage but decided to use it as we've had lots of birds gathering twigs and nesting materials for the last few weeks, and a couple of Magpies have been fussing around a large half built nest in our Hawthorn tree this week.
I am linking up with Julia over at WOYWW this week.
Beautiful piece that gives me the feeling of a peaceful house and garden. Thanks for sharing and have a great day, Valerie
ReplyDeleteHi Diana, another amazing work of art. Wishing you a very happy and creative woyww, Angela x16X
ReplyDeleteHi Diana, what a lovely piece. So rich in texture. A sure sign spring is not too far away when the birds start nest building! Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #6 X
ReplyDeleteHi Diana what a pretty creation, I like how the roof on the house gives the trees in the background a path, an illusion of perspective. When I have pieces i'm unsure of I tend to leave them out on display that right idea or thing will come to you shortly i'm sure. Just enjoy it as it is for now as it's beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing as always happy WoywW Hugs Tracey xx
That is so pretty ! Just visiting in my lunch break thanks for visiting already Helen #2
ReplyDeleteLove how you have placed the house to give the trees in the background an illusion of them being on the very edge of the woodland. I think it is perfect as it is, and i love the texture you have created with the trees and the lettering. If I was going to add something I would think, perhaps of a moon in the top right hand corner, or one that falls off the page, if you see what I mean. Otherwise I cannot suggest anything as, to be honest, I like it as it is.
ReplyDeleteFeeling a bit housebound at the moment on account of the weather I am enjoying watching the birds in our garden. Yours sounds magical with all those houses for the wildlife.
Hugs, Neet 9 xx
That is a beautiful collage - I do think that you could add something to the top of frame though. The swirls, text and trees are all gorgeous. You are so clever!

Dear Diana, it is a very beautiful piece of art,- I think it is perfect , the winterfeeling is surely there, with the trees filled with snow ,- and I so love the nest you created, and the beautiful writing or stamping in the last photo -
ReplyDeleteNow I hope this will be posted,- thankyou again for your cosy chatting with me,- it was so kind of you, to take part . Hugs, Dorthe
Lovely piece. I get the wintry feeling completely. We've noticed the birds are busy sorting out nesting places despite the atrocious weather lately. Have a lovely week. Elizabeth x #21
ReplyDeleteThat's a lovely piece and really I think its okay as it is but people always see things differently.

Hi Diana, I saw your comment about the Eco Green Crafts. The products are sold by Creative Expressions and as well as stamps they sell acrylic paints which are made with natural pigments, recycled packaging and the stamps are recycled rubber so it's got to be good. Sending hugs, Angela xxx
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful piece Diana, very calming and restful to look at and so much to discover on a closer look. Happy belated WOYWW. Sarah #3
ReplyDeleteJust delicious - in that transitional period from winter to spring. I love the elegant trees, echoed on the house - it's a wonderful, atmospheric landscape.

I do love your winter garden pieces, Diana! Absolutely gorgeous, with such subtle wintery colours. Well done indeedy!
ReplyDeleteI am really, really sorry about the problems you've been having trying to leave comments on my blog. I've got a very over-zealous spam checker and I am going to have to check every day to make sure real people aren't being blocked. I have to add them to a whitelist. It's a real pain and something that seems to be on Wordpress that wasn't on blogger. I think you've got my email address if you want to contact me in case it starts happening again in the future but in the meantime this is another timely reminder to me to keep checking the wretched thing!! I am fed up with this happening - you are not the only one - but I'm not savvy enough to know what I'm doing properly, which is why it keeps happening! I will try and keep on top of it.
Anyway, thank you so much for your perseverance and persistence, and I have now got your lovely comments, for which many thanks! I am so glad you like my fish picture. I have downloaded a lot of free adult colouring pages off the Internet but I don't really like doing other people's work, and if there's one I like, I do like to put my own stamp on it. I'm pleased with how this one turned out. I am currently working on some Celtic knotwork motifs out of my Celtic design source book, and I should have them completed by the next WOYWW.
I have to keep well hydrated with an ileostomy. One of the functions of the colon is to absorb water from your food, and in its absence I am at risk of getting dehydrated, and also losing electrolytes. I make up a litre of rehydration/electrolyte drink every day, and I also drink other things - they say tea and coffee aren't so good because they are diuretics but I do enjoy them! My tea is very weak, and I only have one cup of (strong) coffee per day. I also drink water but for ileostomates, the rehydration drink is much more beneficial. I also have kefir and kombucha which are fermented drinks which contain loads of good healthy probiotic bacteria. I've now got another appointment to see the bladder lady in April when I expect she will go through my bladder diary and decide whether to refer me on. Still nothing from Exeter but I don't expect anything for ages...
Again, I can't apologise enough for the commenting problems you've been having - certainly nothing at your end, all at mine, I'm afraid.
Happy belated WOYWW,
Shoshi x #11
I love those trees Diana, such a great shape. My garden isn’t yielding much inspiration I have to confess, but I’m no stranger to living your inspiration vicariously!!
ReplyDeleteOh loving your post. You have such a unique way to create. thank you for your visits and kind words of support. My WOYWW and VGB friends keep my smiling and intrigued. Plus a lot of inspiration. On a warm up here so the snow will melt and I hope it's a real early SPRING. Have a great weekend
