I stamped images onto these old vintage photos a long time ago, with the intention of 'doing something' with them!
All I needed was the WOYWW 11th Anniversary and Hey Ho I've spent a delightful week playing about and turning them into little collages.
I thought they showed the Victorian's love of collecting and hoarding but actually I think they depict mine!

A quick and unusal shot of my desk last night without the white 'photographic' tablecloth on it! It had been whipped away and some little paper clay moulded shapes left out to dry -I made the 4 flowers at the front for a specific project but decided to use up the rest of the clay in random moulds before it dried out completely.
And finally a Happy Anniversary to all the deskers, a huge thank you for the kind, supportive comments and warm friendship over the years, and a massive thank you and virtual hug to Julia who has amazingly brought us all together and kept us going - what a star!
What a superb way to use those photographs, I love the idea of stamping round the edges.

Happy 11th Anniversary WOYWW. Thank you for sharing your wonderful UFOs. I am definitely inspired to actually stamp onto old photo print outs, or do it all digitally. Ali x #18
ReplyDeleteHi Diana, gorgeous work with the UFOs. Unfortunately you've just reminded me of all the paper clay stuff that I've made and not used! I think I may have more half made stuff than I have of the finished variety. Have a lovely woyww anniversary, Angela x17x
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely way to complete those UFOs - such pretty little works of art. It always seems to easy for you to create these little lovelies! Sun shining here today - I will be outside raising a glass to our fab WOYWWers! Happy Bloggyversary. xx Jo #23

Happy 11th Bloggyversary Diana! Well, those photos are rather fab now they've had the 'Diana Touch'!! It really makes the most of them in your usual inimitable style. The clay accessories look fun too, I'd quite like to have a go at that.
ReplyDeleteHope you're keeping safe and well,

Hi Diana! Happy Anniversary and thank you for the earlier visit! I really like what you have done with those ATCs - very beautiful! Yes I did enjoy 'making' my little scrapbook and now they are all together. And yes, time certainly does fly! Happy WOYWW, stay safe, stay well, Cindy #26

Hi Diana, love all the little pieces made from paper clay. I have that, and a selection of moulds, just need to get down to it. I'll probably create another pile of ufo's, lol. Love the pieces you put together, so much detail in them, quite beautiful. Stay safe, have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #12 X

ReplyDeleteHappy 11th Anniversary, Diana. I love how you have embellished those old cabinet cards. It's been awhile since I've seen anyone working with them, and yours are incredible. I adore them all, but I always love it when I visit you and your gifted art. Happy WOYWW from # 6.
ReplyDeleteA wonderful collection, Diana! All those little details - so much to discover! Funny how we both have been moulding this week! I will definitely try the rubber stamp/toilet paper technique you suggested - I can see how it might work with the help of a wet brush! Happy anniversary and thank you for your visit! xx zsuzsa #30
ReplyDeleteHi Diane!
ReplyDeleteHAPPY ANNIVERSARY!
I think your UFO is absolutly stunning! The photos with those stamped flowers and molded and lace bits! BEAUTIFUL! This sort of artwork really excites me! Thank you for your kind words about my humble felting!
Have a lovely week!
Love and hugs,
Cardarian
What delightful collages you have shown us today Diana. A lovely idea to use the earlier work you had done in such a way - now are you going to do something with them? It would be a shame to put them away somewhere. I can see them all linked together in a frame and displayed in your home. Do tell what will happen to them when you decide.
ReplyDeleteYes, we have a lot to thank Julia for - such a lot of friendships and hands across the sea all started by one woman and an idea eleven years ago.
So glad to know you
Hugs, Neet 5 xx
Thanks for the link, Diana - definitely useful! :)
ReplyDeleteI love your Victorian collages, Diana! They have such a beautiful vintage look so in keeping with the period. Your little moulded shapes are gorgeous too. I don't know anything about paper clay. Do you have to fire it? I have some air-dry clay which dries on its own but I don't know if that's the same thing.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your visit and for your enthusiasm over my numerous UFOs! The purple circles jumper is definitely a work in progress and will most likely get finished in time for next winter lol! The UFO challenge at least got me to take them all out and photograph them, and I think it's inspired me to get going on them again. I have brought even more clutter down into the sitting room so I can work on them from the comfort of the recliner! I laughed at your idea of wallpapering with the teabags - why didn't I think of that? You might have started something there! It might give a rather interesting effect. If I left the tea in the teabags, perhaps they would also provide insulation? Lol! Is there anywhere else in the world like WOYWW for getting inspiration? I'm glad you like my hubby's birthday card, too. That was a really fun project to make, and he loves it! It looks splendid on display with his other cards in the sitting room. He said I had made his birthday during lockdown a very special one!
Happy WOYWW 11th anniversary,

Happy 11th!
ReplyDeleteHoly toledo those are cool pictures!! Just amazing!
Have a wonderful week and thanks for popping by!

Ohhhhh Di every week your images take my breath away. They are stunning, gorgeous and absolutely beautiful .... hopefully you get the message :) Your comment about hoarding struck home. While rummaging in my crafty cupboard I discovered I am a secret hoarder. Not the home hoarder type but, the collector of rocks, leaves, twigs, interesting metal things or anything I find on walks. Once you add the craft hoarding it starts to look like a problem. LOL. Stay safe as you celebrate the 11th anniversary and keep creating your beautiful works of art.

Wow. Your collage work is amazing! I love all of them. Happy 11th anniversary. Incredible isn’t it? Dorlene #41

ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing

These must be some of my favourites of yours ever - such a glorious set of collages. I love how redolent they are of those Victorian collectors and naturalists - the over-stuffed living rooms and drawers full of curiosities and collectables. And yes, of course there's a link right through to all of us with our over-stuffed craft stashes! Beautiful vintage images and elements of nature infuse these with stories. Just glorious. Good to see all those moulded embellishments ready for use too.

I am sure the things we create show more of ourselves than we think! I love those little collages, and all the embellishments you added to it - great project to finish! Happy anniversary dear one, stay safe! Big hug from Holland. Marit #32
ReplyDeleteHappy 11th Anniversary Diana and for your friendship over the years. It’s been lovely seeing all your beautiful work.

Hi Diana - sorry i am so late!! I adore you cards and all the little bits on them so so pretty. Such a good idea to use up all the clay , i never do and always end up throwing a half brick away no matter how carefully i wrap it. Ranger. Thanks for you visit yesterday xx Have a lovely week . Soojay xx
ReplyDeleteHappy belated WOYWW Anniversary! I have finished my marking so can now comment on blogs. I absolutely love what you have done with those photos - they are brilliant! Take care my friend and stay safe. With love & God Bless, Caro x (#19)
ReplyDeleteHello . Thanks for popping by. A rather belated Happy 11th WOYWW Anniversary. Anne x 37
ReplyDeleteThank you for your return visit, Diana - I am glad you like my pantry labels. I do like the uniformity of it. Not all the jars are the same and it brings them all together to have matching labels. Most of them are recycled coffee jars which have a good seal around the glass lid - they are quite attractive and I've got 3 different sizes. I've done a lot of cooking over the past couple of days and it was a joy being able to lay my hand on things straight away - the pantry had got pretty chaotic lately, and it's now almost as tidy as it was when it was first built.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info about the paper clay. It does sound fairly similar to my air-dry clay. I'm not sure why it is called "paper" clay and that's always confused me a bit, wondering if it was something like papier mache!

Happy belated 11th WOYWW, Diana, isn't IT amazing!? 😊 and so grateful to have your friendship through it!
ReplyDeleteLoving your ecletic mix in the Victorian collages, I think it refects both your love of collecting things aa well as Victorian era! Wonderful models in clay, good idea not to waste it.
Thanks for sharing, and may God bless and keep you and all whom you love safe and well.

Sorry I’m late! star? Not really Missus, very much made of tin and string if so! Im a bit staggered that you had any UFOs to play with to be honest, but these now look fab. I don’t think they speak to me of hoarding so much as they tell me how your art uses organic and natural shapes and forms, very much a signature I don’t think you could easily change! The moulded bits loook good. And do you know, I leave the foamy stuff I use in the mould to dry so have to wait to do more than one round each time...what a numpty I am. your photo screamed at me...you just turn em out, set them aside and carry on moulding! How embarrassing!!
ReplyDeleteThey are so very beautiful Diana , I love how you are showing the Victorian`s way of living with collections of all kinds, in these collages - and I love being part of the club of todays collectors , making such wonderful art possible to create, and for others to see .
ReplyDeleteThe clay flowers and other pieces are looking lovely and I can`t wait to see how you are going to use them. Hugs and a lovely new week to you, -Dorthe
