A Summer Tag and WOYWW

The mojo is still going (just!) and I made a tag this week.
Well, I made the background for the tag last year, I pressed the Mombretia flowers earlier this year, then this week I glued one to the other, added enamel dots and a ribbon and Hey Presto - creativity at it's minimum!
However, having had raging toothache and a course of strong antibiotics I feel pleased that I achieved anything at all!
It is still sitting on my desk like this as I haven't had the impetus to tidy up yet and put things away - maybe that will come later, you can't rush these things!

I'm linking up with Julia over at WOYWW this week.

  2. Toothache is awful isn't it? Such a nagging pain, hope the meds are kicking in and helping a bit. The tag is gorgeous, I LOVE the burnt orange tones (am really into that colour at the moment!) and the pressed Montbretia works a treat. I hate that they changed the name to Crocosmia, ugly word for a beautiful flower!

  4. Oh Diana, I feel for you. Toothache is terrible, did you put oil of cloves on it? I remember doing that and when I was small mum used to put salt in a bag and warm it up and I would sit with that on the offending area.
I have just seen that they changed the name of the flower to Crocosmia, no, in my book it has always been Montbretia. Love the orange but then burnt orange is a favourite colour of mine in my promarkers. Must say i like the red variety too - presume they are the same name.
Take care, hope you get relief

  5. Sorry I did not say how beautiful the tag was. I like the black dots you gave the tag, adds just that bit of impact. Gorgeous background. Will the flowers stay on or will they eventually dry up and drop off?

  8. HI Diana, I hope the meds are working for you now, I always think that toothache/earache are the worst to have. Love the tag, beautiful combo of real and papercraft. Stay safe, have a lovely week, hugs, Shaz #3 X.

  9. Hi Diana, toothache is something I fear as it can be really difficult to control but it sounds as though you're sorting it. Beautiful tag. I had to smile because I do this thing so often, starting something and then putting it on one side for months until I decide where to go next with it. Have a great week and a very happy woyww, Angela x12x

  10. It's like you're collaborating with yourself over time - I do that too - I always find elements that I made years ago that I can incorporate into my current projects. The pressed flowers look great against that background and the dimensional dots really bring them to life. So sorry to hear about your toothache - that's never fun! I have a tooth as well that's been acting up, but it doesn't hurt as it was root canaled about 15 years ago and they warned me that I might lose it at one point - I think it's shifting but it's not wobbly. Oh well, the less enjoyable things in life - we just have to put up with them. Hope you can get your tooth sorted soon! Enjoy your week! xx zsuzsa #20

  11. What a beautiful tag, Diana, with such a gorgeous warm colour scheme. I'm so sorry to hear about your toothache - as someone terrified of having anything done at the dentist, I sympathise more than you can know! I do hope the antibiotics have helped, and that if necessary, it is now ready for you to have it fixed. My hubby has had a lot of problems like that in the past - horrible!

Thank you for visiting, and I'm so glad you enjoyed my latest Romanian blouse. You are right about the rugs - it's an Islamic tradition - they believe that only Allah is perfect so they deliberately add an error. I don't think it works to make genuine mistakes though lol! I did think of that when I found the mistakes! Forunately they are not too noticeable!

    Happy WOYWW,

  14. So beautiful ~ I love the layers and the colors you chose. the fact that you dried them yourself is impressive enough, and then to see them on a tag ~ stunning. I love the added gold ~ I hope your tooth heals quickly! Blessings on your week

  15. Oh no, so sorry to hear about the toothache - your whole head goes to pieces, I know. I agree it's amazing you created anything at all, let alone anything as spectacular as this tag. Looks like you were channelling the new Distress Colour Crackling Campfire long before it turned up!! Love those beautiful pressed flowers, and you've given them the wonderful setting they deserve.
Hope you feel lots better soon.

  16. Lovely desky share Diana, sorry I’m late... again... 😁
Love the tag, I’ve used those dried flowers years ago now when used a lot of dried flowers, but had found them growing wild and had no idea they were called Mombretia!
Extreme commiserations n the aching toothy peg.. been there done that with various assorted abscesses no fun. One dry socket infection was the worst, I think, though all bad. Whole clove on said tooth helps wonderfully too.
Thanks for being a blessing, and may God bless you too, especially in these unusual times, a blessing to rest simply in Him! Praying you’re all kept well too!
    Hugs, Shaz in Oz.x 😊
