A Tag with a Photo

Tag Tuesday has recently been giving me the inspiration to do some
arty crafty stuff.  This weeks tag incorporates a photo that I took years ago, with proper old fashioned film, in the days when you took one photo of something and hoped for the best!
The dew drops on the cobwebs are replicated in the threads and clusters of clear glass beads that I sewed on to it.  I used my very small collection of Distress Oxides for the background as I wanted it soft and muted, not sure it worked but it did confirm my long held suspicion that I don't like Oxides very much!!

I'm linking up with Julia over at WOYWW.

  1. Good morning Diana
What a beautiful beading effect you’ve created on your tag. Funny enough I did a tag myself this week. Tag Tuesday has been going for years now hasn’t it and is where I made some good blog friends.
    Hope you are keeping well.

  2. This is absolutely beautiful! What a gorgeous picture and a lovely way to record it too. I don't know why you don't like the oxides because you've used them so well! Stay safe and keep smiling, Lisa-Jane #2

  3. It’s a triumph whether you like the oxides or not! They look the perfect background to me and a great foil for the hanging drops which I adore. It is just gorgeous and I am in awe once again at your artistry.

  4. Why do you feel like that about the Oxides when you produce a background like that? Oh Diana, that is beautiful. Your work is always that step up from what I can do. So beautiful, so delicate and just wonderful. What an absolutely gorgeous tag - I just love how you have replicated the dewdrops with that cascade of beads.

  6. A beautiful Tag..I love seeing the dew on cobwebs, they fascinate me, how a drop of dew clings to something so fine as a spider's web.
Thank you so much for joining au at Tag Tuesday x

  8. Beautiful tag Diana. So pleased you're feeling more like some crafting. I like Oxides for some projects but not for others but they do cover card quickly if used with a blending tool so they have their place I think. Have a lovely creative week and happy woyww, Angela x16x

  11. What a beautiful tag, Diana. Your use of the Oxides is perfect - don't know why you don't like them when you've used them to such good effect! I love them, and the gorgeous velvety feel of them once they are dry.

Thank you for your lovely comment and your very kind words! The kitty throw is coming on nicely but these squares with the integrated cat face are a bit of a pain to make! I've set myself to make 6 and then I'll call it a day! I can't wait to get onto the next stage now. The kitties themselves are so funny but my hubby is far too soft for his own good... lol! I do love that photo of Shaz and Doug and it always reminds me of her kindness to me. I am so concerned for them both.

    Happy WOYWW,

  12. I think you did a grand job of soft and muted and the threads with beads are beautiful. Haven't got any oxides at all - shock horror, no idea what they are like to work either. The garland of leaves makes it look like you are peering into a different world so magical.
Thank you for your support, it is so comforting to know I have lots of friends out there. Hugs BJ#25

  14. Such a beautiful tag Diana and lovely to be back in WOYWW. Not having used Oxides in my crafting days I wondered if they are more opaque than the distress inks. The overall effect on your tag with beading/photo/stamping and cut outs is stunning. Stay safe and well and once again so lovely to be back amongst like minded arty/crafty/creative people.

  16. Think your tag is beautiful, so very delicate work and I think you achieved your background. Do you find distress oxides very different from the other? I remember those days of film. I would take up to 6 shots of the same thing sometimes, in the hope of getting one good photograph. I know why in the really old days they wanted people to keep really still! Have a great week. 22. Your tag flws so beautifully Diana, I can already imagine the movement of those beads has it's held so pretty. Motivation can be a strange thing but when it strikes it's a wonderful feeling isn't it.
Yes those little snowballs that Spaniels collect are quite amazing, Freya really needs a trim but with more snow predicted I think she'd prefer to stay warm and put up with the snowballs she collects on walks.. Stay safe & creative Hugs Tracey xx

  27. Hi Diana - rather late from me I'm afraid! Just love the beads/water drop effect on your tag, absolutely stunning!! Like you, I have hermit tendencies and don't find it that hard to be home as long as I have my craft room, the internet and my garden (when it's warm enough). But even I have had enough of this now, it seems to be getting worse instead of better. Stay safe, stay well, Cindy #19

  28. I've been missing so much around Craftyblogland, but so happy to have caught up with this exquisite tag. I love how you've brought the delicate web and dewdrops from the photo into 3D with your exquisite bead work. And the misty softness of the Oxides captures the early morning air beautifully. I almost never work exclusively with Oxides - for me the magic lies in how the chalkiness contrasts with the translucent inks. Oh, and lovely ribbons too.
