UPSIDE DOWN COLLAGES!

Just to keep the creativity flowing I decided to dip into the Collage Workbook by Randel Plowman.  I've had quite a break from it but enjoyed doing these two little collages - the requirement was to use two images and flip one upside down.

The most exciting part of my week has been obtaining a new storage box for my sewing threads!   The 4 Gutermann boxes that I previously had were fiddly, the lids fell off frequently and I had an extra tray of loose reels that wouldn't fit in the boxes.  This one is great, and has freed up a lot of drawer space.  It's also got me doing some long awaited mending!

I'm linking up with Julia over at WOYWW this week.

  1. Hi Diana, you're better than me. I started the Workbook and hardly did anything, the MDF keeps distracting me. Loving your collage pieces. Wishing you a very happy woyww, Angela x10x

  2. How fascinating are your two acollages. The building placed upside down works so well, you could be forgiven for not recognising it. Love the effect of the large bird against the small one - two very striking collages.
Also like your storage for the cottons - I think we have the same box for the threads - mine has a band around it to keep the lid on. Such a pain.

  3. Just read your comment on my blog - I do hope the problem settles soon and you are back in full health. It must have been a real scary time when it happened.

  4. Hi Diana. That is one really good box! Sturdy, tall enough, and holds loads of threads! Well found.
    Take care. God bless.

  5. Interesting how flipping the images creates a completely different feel to those collages - and makes them much more intriguing! The storage box looks lovely with all your threads lined up! A bit like crayons in a box - now that I'm getting into fabric arts a bit more, I'm realising that it's not really that different to working with paper and paints and it really just expands the borders of mixed media - there's so much overlap as well! It's like a whole new area of the playground for me! Same playground, I just had to open a new gate! Enjoy your week, Diana! xx zsuzsa #16

  6. Well done on your collage work. Funny how we all get excited by good storage!! I know what you mean about doing extra, I always do more than I need of everything these days but I doubt I could ever use all the sentiments I have in this lifetime!! Happy WOYWW, love n hugs Cindy xx #14

  7. Thanks for visiting me earlier and for your lovely comments. I've managed a busy sewing day today and thankfully my mouth isn't quite so swollen although it's still rather sore. I'm on top of my sewing demands now so just got to start cooking/baking ready for the crop around my dentist appointment in the morning. I will get there :-)
Love the thread box but have a feeling I would need several boxes to hold all mine lol.

  8. What a fab thread box - I'd love one or two or three! My threads take up about 5 drawers in my little re-used bedside tables. xx Jo

  13. Thanks for your visit earlier
What a super piece of storage. I don't have many of those threads so mine are kept in a vintage Oxo tin......
Love the collage, may have to go explore.
    Take care
