In my previous post I showed some silver pendants in production stage that I was making for Christmas presents, and here they are finally finished - all given and well received! The tiniest one was very fiddly, it's only about half an inch long but it was for my sister to wear alongside an oak leaf that I had made for her a while ago.
Sitting on my desk this week are some prints that I did at a photo printing workshop several years ago. I brought them home and promptly lost them - it's always niggled me that I never knew what happened to them. Well this week they fell out from between the pages of one of my old craft books that I apparently don't look at very often! They aren't as nice as I remembered - the more frustrated I got at losing them the nicer they became in my mind!!
I can't remember how we made them but it involved real leaves, photo paper and plenty of shaving foam and sudacreme! Now I'm sitting looking at them wondering if I could use them for anything - the mind is a blank at the moment!
Your silverwork is so beautiful. What lovely gifts . Don't you often find that on losing something it takes on a much bigger persona than it deserves. That happens to me frequently but it could be the random state of my craft room that's not helping! x x Jo

ReplyDeleteWell, I’ve heard it all now - Sudacreme in crafting??! Was that to soothe your blistered fingers after crafting hard for a day? I rather like the prints and am sure you’ll be able to find a use for them in one of your projects, collage maybe - I was thinking of you yesterday as I had a friend over to make some tags (she’s not very crafty so I did something easy) and she was bowled over by those die cuts you sent me, we had a lovely time so thank you again!

Loving the pendants. I hope you find something to do with the leaves . I'd throw them on a journal page ! Great to see you today. Helen #1
ReplyDeleteLove the acorns they are gorgeous. I think those leaves would be useful for all kinds of projects, they would look great as a focul image on the top of some collage Lol! It was you really that made me want to do more collage and then I found Collage Kickstart which has really tempted me even more. Wishing you a very happy woyww. Hugs, Angela x11x
ReplyDeleteYour silver work is beautiful. I agree with Jo, when something is lost, it often turns out to be not quite as good when it finally is found. Or something entirely different 🤣🤣

Your silver acorns are beautiful- have you made them with PMC, moulded silver or another technique?
ReplyDeleteTake care and happy WOYWW

What gorgeous jewellery and the papers, well I'd use them for pages in a junk journal, but that's where I'm at at the moment LOL Hugs BJ#14

I don't expect that your mind will be blank for long...I can't help with the technique you used...shaving foam has been in my craft arsenal for sure, but not Sudocrem! Made me laugh that your mind told you they were better than you thought (although I disagree, I think they've worked out really well), isn't that always the case though, and the more you look the more you 'need' them because they are the best thing you ever made!
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful pieces and your post made me feel like I'm not the only one. The clean up I just posted really helped me .....I found things I totally forgot about. I know you will use what you found for a great purpose. Happy Weekend.
ReplyDeleteI am sat here wondering what those leaves look like as I have never heard of a technique using those things - Sudacream? I can however imagine the acorns. Wow, that acorn is so polished, must have taken ages and the pendants are gorgeous, especially the second one. Wish I had got into silver clay years ago now.
ReplyDeleteTuesday saw me cleaning up for the friends coming around and somehow I got my feet legged up in one another and in a flex. Down I went like a sack of potatoes.
A 999 call and 9 hours in hospital. Broken ribs and my knee is a bit of a mess to say the least. The doctor was all for sending for the Plastics team but the trauma ED nurses decided Plastics wouldn't touch it as it needed too many skin grafts.
So here I am, feeling very much my age and sat in a chair with my leg up unable to do anything but watch tv and just today I got on here with comments.
I really am a silly old thing.

Love those prints!
