The builders have gone, the decorating is finished and the tree is up - we're ready for Christmas! I'm linking up with WOYWW but although there is nothing on my desk, I hope I'm forgiven as all my creative energies have been going into the festive preparations! Here's a little mosaic of my decorations - red, brown and cream this year - and I managed to acquire an old sled which I'm using to display some of the presents.
To all who celebrate Christmas, I hope you have a happy, sparkly and creative one!
Lovely tree and dec's - ENJOY!!!! Hugs, Chris # 8
ReplyDeleteWow! That looks like a postcard! Beautiful arrangement of pretty parcels on a sledge. And I love those red adornments. I also looked at your other blogs and saw the tags. They are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting me earlier and for your kind words,
Have a good week,

I love the colours of your decorations! So pretty..it makes a wonderful Christmas mosaic. In fact, it would make a fab jigsaw! Next years prezzies maybe? Now, how can you just pick up a vintage wooden sledge like that? It looks amazing sat there with the presents on board!
ReplyDeleteWishing you a very. Happy Christmas, thank you for all the support and lovely comments throughout this past year :-)

Beautiful decorations, very festive and I love the old sled. I sometimes see them propped up on porches here in the US with festive greens and an old pair of ice skates tied to them. Have a wonderful Christmas.

How beautiful your wrapped presents look, Diana, with their fabulous tags, and what a great way to display them, on a sledge! Very wintry! (They do say we might have snow over Christmas, but I doubt we'll get any down here in the very mild SW!)
ReplyDeleteThank you for your lovely comment. I am sorry to hear you have got to have an operation in January. Today, I made a big pot of clear chicken soup for the freezer, ready for when I have to prepare for my colonoscopy and can only have clear foods. It's all pretty unpleasant, and I might as well make the awful preparation as enjoyable as possible! I enjoyed the soap making class very much, even if I didn't get so much out of the final two sessions, but I feel I've learnt enough to pursue it on my own now, and have got most of the stuff I need from Ebay. I started using my lemon soap in the kitchen today and it's true - it really does get rid of the oniony smell - I cut up a lot of onions today for my soup and for the mealy stuffing for Christmas day.
At the hospital they said that there is no guarantee that Mum won't have further TIAs as there's nothing they can do to prevent them, apart from continuing with the warfarin. Her blood has to be tested every week still, because its stickiness fluctuates wildly and we can't seem to stabilise it. With my hubby not driving with his broken wrist, life is complicated... Mum seems to have made an almost 100% recovery. She's a tough old bird at 93. At one point over the weekend we weren't sure she'd ever be able to come home.
So glad you like my old cases. I was thrilled to get them when we were clearing out my parents' house 18 months ago, ready for sale - nobody else wanted them. I had thought of restoring them and altering them, but then decided I loved them just as they were, and they make a nice display without taking up too much room. They've got some stuff in them and I shall get properly organised eventually and use them to keep lace and trimmings etc. Did you notice the old Bible on the shelf above? That was given to me by a friend who has just cleared his mum's house. He also gave me the other book, underneath, which is an illustrated Life of Christ, with gorgeous engravings in it.
Christmas is again a bit of a non event this year, like last year. I shall be glad when it's all over. I'm so exhausted!!
Happy WOYWW,
