Spring Tea Bag Embroideries

I have been finishing off more of my little mossy tea bag embroideries this week.

These two became little ATC's!

Some close-up detail:

I'm so thrilled to have received another little batch of ATC's in the post this week - and what stunners they are - the beautiful triptych from Angela at Felix the Crafty Cat, the exquisite print of her work from Sandra de and the lovely heart from Lunch Lady Jan - thank you so much ladies!

I'm linking up with WOYWW this week and am so happy to hear that Julia is now on the road to recovery after her successful operation - sending lots of love and keep getting stronger Julia.

  3. Oooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh........I'm in lurrrrvve. You know what I'm on about, don't you? LOL Look at that leaping hare, bounding over the gloriously green mossy grass. Completely and utterly fantastic and all on a teabag. You are brilliant.
I had a Road to Damascus moment when I was cursing after spelling lavender all over the place....wouldn't it be easier, I thought, to just have a little bag of it. And so an idea was born! I used my rotary cutter to quickly cut the fabric, whizzed them around on the machine (didn't even bother turning them inside out), stuffed them with a spoonful of lavender and sewed up the opening. I did about twenty in less than 15 mins!! Result :-D

  11. Adore your little tea bag creations, especially the Hare one as my maiden name was HARES. Although I love the lime green velvet too. I used to do a lot of embroidery, maybe one day again. Thanks for the visit. BJ#23

  21. Oh my gosh, I don't even know what to say! They're so precious and amazingly detailed. I love that rabbit, and I love what you did with the paper overlay on those two. Not to mention the moss on those ones. And the buttons - thank goodness you discovered covering your own because you just took that and ran!

  24. Oh dear - almost speechless again. Miniature works of art... like Astrid, I love the hare. (My mind leapt straight to Masquerade, the original treasure hunt book, and the beautiful golden hare which artist Kit Williams had created and hidden, with clues to its whereabouts in his magical, intricate drawings. I'm sure you must know it...) You've taken teabag artwork to another level here. And how lovely to have more ATCs arriving to enjoy too.

  27. I absolutely adore the pieces with the mossy green velvet, and especially the one with the hare - it is inspired! I don't think I'm alone in this, looking at the other comments! Hares are so special and not often seen. Do you frame your work, or exhibit it? You are very prolific and I do hope that as many people as possible get to see it.

I love the collection of ATCs too. I'm sorry I haven't been able to be involved this year. There seems to be just too much on at the moment, which in some ways is great, but at other times can be a bit frustrating!

Have a great week, and happy belated WOYWW,

  29. Hi Diana, thank you for your return visit to my blog and for leaving such a lovely comment. How funny that you got your Infusions on the same day as me! They are definitely nore subtle than brushos, and from now on I expect we'll see them making an appearance ibn a lot of mixed media projects online which will be very inspiring. I think they will be a useful addition to one's arty arsenal! I had hoped to get in the studio today but as usual something else intervened... I have also had pretty miserable experiences with craft fairs in the past - a huge amount of work for very little return, and with my limited amount of energy, I am simply not prepared to put myself through all that again! Glad you like all my new stash - some time ago I was impressed with what people were doing with oil pastels so I must do some more research into how to use them and how they relate to other products. I am very amused that your hubby calls your recipe books your fiction section lol lol lol!!! Brilliant! I am looking forward to trying some of the recipes in my gorgeous new book, but can't guarantee that they will be to the high standard of Creme de la Creme! Sometimes we need a bit of calorific indulgence, and it was quite reassuring watching the TV series where everything was so bad for one, when nearly all cookery programmes these days seem to emphasise healthy eating! Today the beautiful vintage tea service I boubht on Ebay arrived - just the thing for my baking and all the tea parties I am going to have!

Thanks for visiting too. I love that Altenew stamp set with the matching dies. And I haven't really used those Opal Magic paints much yet, but I think they will be good :)
    Have a lovely week.

  32. It's hard for me to get my head around what size these must be if they are on teabags and then ATC's. So much detail squeezed (but not at all looking squeezed) into a tiny space. I adore your work.

You are welcome about Mark Hearld :) Try and get a hold of his book in the library (although it's DEFINITELY worth buying) it's so gorgeous.
