Oh goodness, I'm struggling with Christmas - I still haven't come up with any ideas and several attempts are in the bin!
However, I managed to whip together a quick birthday card for my cousin-in-law and I've just gone and splashed out on some new stash in the hope it might inspire me - any excuse huh!
I gave it a more frosty November feel by adding Rock Candy Stickles to the flowers.
I'm linking up with Julia over at WOYWW this week.
What a stunning card and beautiful colour choice... but then again I love all the colours you choose.Have a lovely week.

Hi Diana, how beautiful! Definitely gives a frosty feel. Gorgeous. Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz #9 xx
ReplyDeleteI hate the thought of your "failed" Christmas cards going in the bin! I bet they're better than anything I could ever create! The birthday card looks fantastic and I bet it's even more breathtaking in person! That looks like Khadi cotton paper you used for the background - I love that stuff! Happy WOYWW! zsuzsa #22
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely STUNNING! Love the crinkled ribbon and the rock candy was the perfect accent. Hugs, Autumn
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, beautiful card. I love the dimension you manage to create on all your projects. I am sure the new stash will give you inspiration.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful card Diana. Lovely textures. We don't need an excuse for a splash out, do we ? Haha

This is so gorgeous. You don't need an excuse to buy something new, you needed it Lol! Have a great woyww and happy crafting, Angela x 18
ReplyDeleteThis is stunning!! I love the subtle water colour background with the splatters and that hint of a fern, - the different colourings of the die cuts add real depth and the trip just finishes it perfectly! A truly stunning card! And of course we all recognize that stash excuse :o) Now I can't wait to see what you will come up with!
ReplyDeleteLovely use of the die-cuts - such pretty sparkle to give it all that frosty feel too. I'm way off anything Christmassy - I've barely got myself back in the craft room since getting back. I can't even do the stash-buying thing as a nudge - there were already packages awaiting my arrival, so I really can't go shopping again!

I love the layers in your birthday card! I can see this as a Christmas card too, just change the blue to red, maybe poinsettias instead of the blue flowers, a Merry Christmas across the top. . would look awesome! Thanks for sharing! Lindart #41
ReplyDeleteHappy Belated WOYWW. A beautiful card. Yes, I agree with Linda - it could be a Christmas card. Ali x #32
ReplyDeleteI'll take your excuse any day, lol! Nonetheless, this is absolutely wonderful, and love your little frost detailing and those shadows! xxx Lynn
ReplyDeleteLove this, Diana - but then I always do love your work! The colour is fabulous - gorgeous rich lapis lazuli blue with a really frosty feel. The crinkled ribbon and the deckle edge are just perfect and give it that extra finish!
ReplyDeleteHappy belated WOYWW,

Thanks for a lovely comment, Diana - I certainly enjoyed my cooking bonanza last week! This week I've acually managed to put in a couple of hours' studio time at last! I am glad you like the mandalas. I've been working on more visuals for my Bible study group this week but no photos yet. Phoebe is going in on Thurs. to have her teeth fixed, and will be away overnight. I just hope she's not too stressed by the whole thing!
