Spring Luminary

Spring is here, evenings are lighter, weather is sunnier (sometimes), and to celebrate I decided to make up this Tim Holtz Luminary die that I have had for ages but never got round to using.  I found out it calls for great accuracy when putting it together, which explains the slight twist in it's body that makes it look a little wonky from some angles - oh well, I 'll know next time!   I stamped white grasses and flowers onto frosted film for the windows, although it's difficult to see in the photos, and I put a night light inside it.

I am linking up with Julia over at WOYWW this week, why not pop along and see what other people have on their desk this week.

Tree Houses

I've been gently getting back into a creative frame of mind, and messing about with tree houses!
I've always loved them, ever since Peter and Jane had one in a Ladybird book when I was a child - anyone remember?!  I yearned for one, to no avail - we didn't have a tree for a start - but they still hold a real fascination for me.

I've just been down memory lane and found the original image on Google - I remember in my tree house I wanted an easel in the corner so the wood grain wouldn't show through the paper, as I'm sure it must have done on Peter's drawing - I was pernickety even back then!

Underwater Birthday Card

I've had a bit of an unplanned blog break but at last I'm getting back into the swing of arty crafty stuff, and to start off I made a birthday card for my brother-in-law.  He used to be a dive instructor, so I wanted something with an underwater theme!

The card below is the first attempt but I didn't like the bright blue micro-beads that I had added - they seemed a good idea right up until the moment I threw them on the wet glue!

I am joining in this week with What's On Your Work Desk Wednesday.
