Spring Luminary

Spring is here, evenings are lighter, weather is sunnier (sometimes), and to celebrate I decided to make up this Tim Holtz Luminary die that I have had for ages but never got round to using.  I found out it calls for great accuracy when putting it together, which explains the slight twist in it's body that makes it look a little wonky from some angles - oh well, I 'll know next time!   I stamped white grasses and flowers onto frosted film for the windows, although it's difficult to see in the photos, and I put a night light inside it.

I am linking up with Julia over at WOYWW this week, why not pop along and see what other people have on their desk this week.

  1. Wow, it doesn't look wonky at all from these photos. Beautiful embellishments and the subtle stamping on the frosted windows shows up really well in the last photo. Sarah #13

  5. No, I don't see wonky either. And I'm crediting you with the introduction of this acidy green to my user palette. Except it never looks this effective in my hands!

  13. Gorgeous, Diana - how I love those fresh colours with the bright green and the pink - not something you'd think would go together so well but wow, it's stunning! So in tune with springtime and I love the shaded effect you've got on the ferns and petals. Thank you for your visit - I am so glad you like the crackle paste sample - that was certainly the most experimental and I thought to start with that it would end up in the bin, but I'm glad I persevered with it in the end. I've only just got those wild grasses stamps and can see loads of potential in them. This afternoon I found some more techniques to try with Infusions so after I've cleared the kitchen I'm off up again to play! As for our dry rot problem, I am just keen for the job to be over and done with now - he's hoping to start a week tomorrow, and then we've got to get the kitchen fitter in to make my pantry. My hubby says he can get a nice stone slab cut to size for me! Are you envious yet lol!! Yes, our kitties get 5* treatment OK. I call it spoiling actually! Not having kids, they are our babies and now they are getting old they need all the pampering they can get - we know their time is limited and we love them to bits.

    Happy WOYWW,

  21. I don't see "wonky" either but I do enjoy the word and have it in my special book where I record words that make me giggle or I find interesting. I'm going to write that you mentioned it about your beautiful piece haha.
