Studio De-Stash and WOYWW

Cooler weather - what a relief - and so much more energy to do things!  I have been having a clutter clear and reorganisation in my studio this week and although the changes aren't big, it feels nicer!
Only the most necessary yarns have been kept (!) and they fitted neatly into four large wicker baskets - at the start my plan was that they would all fit into one, but I think I was being unrealistically optimistic!

More organising on the other side of the room - my large trunk of fabric, sitting at the end of my desk, was sorted out but instead of reducing it I found that once all the fabric was out it wouldn't all fit back in - hence the basket on top is now stuffed with overflow bits and I managed to send one small bundle of fabric to charity!
This really has to be the ideal lazy-persons desk, as all I have to do is swivel my chair around and everything is within easy reach! My desk is empty as usual, as I can't stand having anything on it, but the pile of A4 boxes in the pictures is where the clutter is kept. Each box is for a different project/subject and the pile is getting taller and wobblier.

I'm joining in with Julia over at What's On Your Work Desk Wednesday this week.

  1. It's so lovely to see your craft room - it's so beautifully organised!! Just what I would have expected from you. IT made me laugh that you couldn't fit the fabric back in after sorting it, lol - are you sure you didn't sneak a few extra bits in there hoping we wouldn't notice?!

  2. Hi Diana, lol, I often have tall, wobbly piles in my room too, till I decide I'm in danger of an avalanche, so have a tidy and put them away. Funny how stuff won't go back into a container it came out of, isn't it? Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #5 XxX

  3. Your craft room is definitely how i imagined it; very well organised and tidy Diana. Your fabric chest sounds like a glitter pot; once you get some out, it never all goes back in lol. Have a great week. Sarah #19

  8. How lovely to see your room, Diana. It all looks so organised and bright and clean, and really restful too! Unlike my chaotic dumping ground at the moment!! I can hardly move in there and I really need to sort stuff out. The weather has cooled off and it should have been the ideal opportunity but I'm just too exhausted to tackle it at present. Thank you for your lovely comment and I'm glad you enjoyed seeing all my music papers and books.

    Happy WOYWW,

  10. It's like looking at my idea of an ideal space Diana, a space I aspire to have all of my very own. As much as i'm trying to get organised there is always something else that gets in the way to make things messy (close your eyes now hee hee!!)
I think my creative life is full of wobbly boxes..
Thank you for sharing WOYWW and giving me a vision of perfection.

  11. Hi Diana, I'm with you on the cooler weather being a relief. The hot weather left me drained! I'm also with you on the need for a tidy desk. I always have to tidy away, and on the rare occasion I don't, I then have to tidy before I start crafting again. Have a lovely week Heather x #34

  12. Hi Diana, nothing wrong with having everything in easy reach. I had to smile about your little clear out. We all love new stash yet we're just as happy when we can get rid of a few things and make a bit of space. It's a crafters thing Lol! Have a great woyww and a lovely crafty week, Angela x17x

  13. Lovely to see the space where the beauty is created. It certainly looks very organised, and how convenient to have everything within reach. Sadly, it looks as though the heat is about to hit us again here in the South East...

  15. I just love your craft area and for some reason I thought you worked in a much bigger space than this. It's fantastic! And so bright and airy too. Well done on the organisation - I need some tips on that :)

  18. HI Diana. I'm REALLY late visiting - but getting there! I love those baskets of yarn - don't they just look great, and I was greatly amused at the thought that after decluttering your fabric it wouldn't fit into the box it came out of! Don't we all have that problem? I know I do! Your room is great - we can now imagine you swivelling round and round reaching out for all you need.
    Take care. God bless.

  19. At last someone with as many baskets as me. I’ve been rearranging in my studio but haven’t managed to throw anything out. It’s nice to sit and look at a different layout though and I haven’t got anything on my desk either
