In the sweltering temperatures we've been having lately I have found the best time to garden is in the late evening and into the night.
I am definitely more attracted to my garden at this time, especially by the intensity of the blue plants in twilight that seem to glow, and the shapes and silhouettes of the flower beds with touches of moonlight glinting on them.
The tags and card topper were inspired by both my garden this week and the left over backgrounds I'm still ploughing my way through (as per my previous post here)!

There are no words Diana! I sat open mouthed at the beauty of your work, it is so stunning. Enjoy plenty more night gardening if it inspires you like this. Sarah #13
ReplyDeleteSarah has said it all - I sat here open mouthed too! That first tag is simply gorgeous, EVERY element works well, nothing is superfluous. The colours and negative space and that butterfly and the textures....I could go on but you get my drift. I. LOVE. IT.

Here in the states, night gardening brings on mosquitoes. I feel for you, dear, because I have NO idea what I would do if I didn't have air conditioning. It barely cools down even at night where I live.
ReplyDeleteBut I am here to admire the beauty of your art. I'm just so impressed with those tags you created. The complimentary colors you used were perfect. Not only that, you stamp so well, too. You are my idol, Diana. Thanks for stopping by earlier. Happy WOYWW from # 1.
Wowzah, your cards really have that 'evening-garden-feel' to it, fabulous!!! Warm(!) hug from Holland, Marit #21
ReplyDeleteHi Diana, how lovely are these? So beautiful and ethereal. I agree, gardening is an evening occupation at the moment. Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #7 XxX
ReplyDeleteAhhh, sigh - a cool twilight breeze comes wafting from these beauties. Stunning! My favourite colours, wonderful nature stamping, and one of my all-time favourite script stamps in action too. These make me so happy. Enjoy your night garden!

Morning Diana. I'm amazed you are not sleeping... if you have been up half the night gardening!! Yes, it does get just the teensiest bit cooler over night! The inside of my home has sat consistently 24, 25 during the day, and only dropped to around 21,22 overnight for the past I forget how long! Am thinking back to the fact that I was carrying daughter #2 right through the summer of 76!! Glad I'm not pregnant now! Well done on the inspiration for the tags - long may night time gardening continue, obviously!
ReplyDeleteTake care. God bless.

Oh dear Diana, such beauties, you have created again- makes me feel joy,- that I`m able to visit you here, and see your amazing art.
ReplyDeleteThe colors are wonderful, blue.orange and white ,-and so love the 3D they get from the die cut wild flowers ,in two of them-
Here too, we almost can`t breathe from the heat - maybe I should be outside in the late evening , just like you .
Hugs, Dorthe
Love your colors and fun layers...and the backgrounds are really awesome. Thanks for sharing Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteI can only agree with the others - what absolute beauties! I can't remember the last time I felt cold - except on the air-conditioned train up to York on Friday... we're never happy are we! Helen #4
ReplyDeleteThose are absolutely stunning - love the colour combination and the different layers. Thanks for sharing. Have a nice week. Love Caro x (#20)
ReplyDeleteWow how lovely - so many layers. Karen 23
ReplyDeleteGorgeous layers, brilliant colour scheme, love them. Managed to cool down today, now how could she do this I hear you ask? We went to the garden centre which has air conditioning, lovely. Wishing you a great woyww, Angela x17x
ReplyDeleteHello and thank you for visiting and your kind comments. I love the colours you have used, especially the blue. I am hoping it might cool down a little at the weekend - it is getting unbearable for me. Have a lovely week. Anne x #9
ReplyDeletePure visual poetry so glad I saw this. Life is a bit surreal for us with all this heat and it is felt most in the garden. It is very wild and abandoned with massive growth and as you say seen at strange times as we all avoid the bright daylight hours. Thanks for sharing this. x
ReplyDeleteDiana you always have a treat awaiting for us all. Stunning colours and a beautiful arrangement of layers, I can see totally why you would choose to craft outdoors during this time. Morning and evening is my choice of creativity outside.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing & Happy WOYWW Tracey #6
Hello my friend, so good to see your beautiful tags, gorgeous colors and textures, as with all your work. I'm impressed you're still motivated to garden when it's hot - I tend to lose all interest in the heat, which doesn't bode well for a summer garden here!
ReplyDeletefantastic tags! absolutely love the colour and layout! Happy rest of the week! xo Cheetarah #28
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous! The colors are so beautiful. Happy late WOYWW Dorlene #34
ReplyDeleteOh, those muted colours are so beautiful and work so well together. Loving how the diecuts add even more dimension to the layered background. Your stamping is always so delicate and finely tuned! The stamps and the hint of gold add a lot of interest as well! Masterpieces, I would say!
