Midnight Lavender and WOYWW

I'm loving my garden at the moment - especially at night when the colours come alive and the moonlight creates such a beautiful glow on the plants. This tag is made using dried and pressed lavender from the garden, some collage scraps and some metallic wax.
Some of you who visit my blog regularly will know that I love working seasonally and for the last few years have been working during each summer on my 'midnight garden'.  If you are interested you can see some of my older work here.

I wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who left good wishes for my carpel tunnel operation last week - I finally had it done last Friday and it's now well on the mend.   I'm struggling to type (this post is taking ages) or do much art but I made some tag bases before the op and have been able to do the finishing touches one handed - in fact it was surprisingly easy gluing on the lavender flowers.
I am linking up with Julia over at WOYWW.  I shall try and return visits but might just have to leave my mark rather than a comment - I hope you don't mind!

  3. I did a comment on my phone when I was out but it seems not to have 'taken', so to speak. So if you end up with two from me, that's why, lol!
Anyway, I said that I was pleased that your op was on time and so successful - I didn't expect to see you this week tbh, but am glad that you've mastered the art of holding the tube of glue between your teeth. It's a life skill...... ;-)
The tags are glorious, I adore the inky blue and all the details...swoon....

  5. Glad to hear you're healing nicely. It'll take some time for you to be able to use both hands. That tag is gorgeous! I had some dried lavender and over the weekend I noticed it gone because hubby threw it away. He said it was all dry and no good. UGH! Dorlene #23

  7. Oh this is beautiful. I am just starting to learn to work with the seasons and you are one of the artists that really has influenced me in that way. I adore everything you do. I'm wishing you a speedy recovery and am in awe that you still blogged and created after an op like that.

Take it easy if you can x x

  9. How completely gorgeous... I've been in lavender and midnight mood over the last couple of creations - so this feels very in tune with my crafting world just now. The delicate threads of those lavender stems and that glorious petal ombre stretching into the background all add up to an exceptional midnight beauty.

So happy to hear surgery went well and recovery is on track. Take good care of yourself.

  14. Hi Diana. So glad the op went well - and in fact, went ahead! Trust all the recovery goes well. That tag is lovely - well done for managing to glue on lavender, no less, single handedly! I don't think I would have managed to do it with two hands!!
    Take care. God bless.

  16. Your fingertips create the most beautiful creations Diana... wowsers! It’s truly stunning, I’m thinking they must be agapanthus petals you’ve used as you mention it and of course the dried lavender.. very aromatic if you gently press on it.
Carpal tunnel surgery there’s a lot around. I pray you heal well in every aspect blessed of God!
Thanks for being a blessing, and may God bless you too.
