Midnight Green

I'm still working slowly on little tags while my hand recovers from the carpel tunnel op, and still enjoying my 'summer' garden although the weather feels definitely autumnal lately.
I don't work with green very often, it's definitely not a 'go to' colour but I've really liked working with these shades to represent the garden at night - it makes such a change from the blues and purples I usually use.

I'm linking up with Julia over at WOYWW - why not pop over to see what other people have on their desks this week.

  4. So dreamy! I love everything about it! I'm a big fan of those poppy heads too and the colours in the postage stamp compliment your composition perfectly. I may have a few similar patina charms lying around as well waiting for a special project. Hope your wrist will fully recover soon! zsuzsa #18

  5. Ooh, lovely tag and although it's not your usual colour palette, I have to say it works really well and reminds me of some fabric I bought recently. I'll have to email you a pic as I can't include one in this comment...rats! Hope your hand is improving daily, you'll be back to normal very soon (always a first time for everything eh?)

  8. I too am not a fan of using green but I think it goes well with blue if you get the right shades and I think you have with this tag. Great way you have coloured the bee, it goes so well with the stamp in the bottom corner.
Glad you are improving with time since the operation. Keep persevering and you will get there.
    Hugs, Neet 7 xx

  9. Hi Diana, gorgeous tag. Although I don't use green so much now I had a green stage where everything I wore was green but no idea what set me off at the time. Have a lovely woyww and a happy creative week, Angela x11x

  11. So glad the surgery’s done and you’re back to making already - good for you! Green isnt a go to for me either...love the golden highlights on the bee...and the overall perspective on the tag. I could learn so much from you, if only my memory was up to it!

  15. How beautiful. Your midnight summer garden is magical. It's always a surprise to me when you say green isn't one of your colours, because I associate so many flowers and leaves and stems and natural elements with your gorgeous work. (And of course it was some lovely green stems you shared in one of the PaperArtsy themes that first brought me here...) I'm happy to hear the hand is staring to recovery from surgery... hope the improvements will continue by leaps and bounds.

  17. Just gorgeous, as always, Diana! I love it when you do a midnight theme. I remember the ones you did before. Your choice of green is perfect. I do hope your hand recovers quickly and that you are not in too much pain.

I've had a very stressful week and have only just got my WOYWW post up - I forgot to publish the draft on Wednesday.

    Happy belated WOYWW,

  18. Beautiful little tag, DIana - that poppy head is gorgeous set amongst the midnight colors; that teal is stunning! As always, I admire your talent in working small and still revealing lots of wonderful detail. I cannot seem to get the hang of that, despite all of your wonderful inspiration, lol! Glad to hear the hand recovery is progressing; sending good thoughts that this continues! xxx Lynn

  19. These are gorgeous Diana, the textures and dimension and that gorgeous teal - I'm so impressed you're making them even after CP surgery, I hear that's a pretty long recovery. I don't have any excuse for my lack of productivity except for having a puppy - which is amazingly all-consuming! It's been so long since I had one that I'd managed to forget!
