I made a birthday card for the Hubs this week and decided on a gardening theme. He's spent most of the week outside preparing the vegetable tubs, making bases for them to stand on, sowing seeds and generally tidying the patio ready for vegetable growing. I thought the card was quite apt!
Ohhhhh this is gorgeous and I will say it again I love the intricate detail and attention you put into everything you create. I am always left speechless with how beautifully you create projects every week. Stay safe and I hope your veggies come along nicely in your spring weather.

ReplyDeleteLove it! All the details is brilliant and you'll be eating the real life stuff later in the year. I weeded my veg beds the other day so I just need to getting sowing some seeds now.

ReplyDeleteAs always Diana, your card is stunning. Hubby will love it. Take care and Keep safe . soojay#21
ReplyDeleteOh, that is delightful - I love the tomato vines clambering up the bamboo canes - what a brilliant idea and perfectly executed, of course! We're also busy with seeds (happily now seedlings in the kitchen) and prepping troughs for more planting out in the little courtyard. We need these cold nights to warm up a bit soon though. Stay safe.

ReplyDeleteThat's a gorgeous card for your hubby. Thanks for your words of encouragement, it seems most of us are now avoiding the continual outpouring of doom and gloom reports! Happy WOYWW and stay safe. Helen #3
ReplyDeleteSpot on for a gardening theme...and I love the texture you added with the stencil and paste (assumed that was the method, anyway). What small and fiddly dies you have...I can feel my one patient gene S t r e t c h i n g at the very thought! Keep wel gal. Xx
ReplyDeleteThat card is simply fantastic - truly perfect for the gardening theme Happy WOYWW. Take care and stay well, With love & God Bless, Caro x (#17)
ReplyDeleteA very fine card indeed Diana I love how you've wound the wire around those stakes. Lovely and intricate, gives me itchy creative fingers making me want to go play.
ReplyDeleteNice to think of Hubby preparing the garden, something I wished we were more prepared for this year I must say. After relaying the decking last Autumn the horrid weather stopped us clearing everything else before winter came so it's a garden of two halves at the moment just waiting on us to have permission to finish it.
Stay Safe & Happy belated Birthday to Hubby Hugs Tracey #25
Hi Diana, I love the close up photos, and the detail in your cards - I'm never that brave to show detailed close ups- even more faults would be visible! I've yet to venture into the garden and sort out the veg plot. Next week maybe, or the week after .... have a lovely week and stay safe and well, Heather xx #3÷
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect card for a gardener's birthday. Your work is always a pleasure to see. Thank you for sharing it. Hope it is helping you through all of this madness. x
ReplyDeleteWonderful card, Diana - everything is perfect - the leaves, pot, tendrils, twine, and veggies! And lovely to think of a wonderful harvest over the season... yum! Fabulous stencil with paste as well. I'd say you got over the blank page syndrome in great style! Thanks for updating me on mud-larking - I'd never have guessed what those bits were! xxx Lynn
ReplyDeleteHi Diana, your hubby's card is fabulous. I seem to remember you making a really gorgeous gardening one for him last year too.I bet he was thrilled with it. Like yours, mine has been very busy in the garden these past few days - he's anxious to get things done before the weather changes, which he says is due to happen in the next few days. Our vicar phoned today to see how we were, and when I told him my hubby was hard at work in the garden, he said that by the end of this, he is sure everybody's house and garden will be more spick and span than they've ever been before!!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your lovely comment - wow... is there no limit to what can be done with the famous Celtic knots! Haha! - though I think a 3-D printer is probably beyond even TechiShoshi! Can 3-D printers be made to create things from a 2-D image? I'm glad you and your hubby have had fun with the bird quiz. I was exactly the same - I got stuck on that one too, till my hubby gave me a hint. Do you want one too? I could have kicked myself when I realised what it was - so easy!! The one he struggled with was No. 11. My favourites are 4 & 6.
Stay safe and well, and keep smiling!
Happy WOYWW,

Oh my, what a beautiful card you made! LOVE the beans (or are they peppers?) so sweet! Happy beloved birthday to your hubs. Have a nice day, stay healthy and safe. Big hug from Holland. Marit #24
ReplyDeleteYour card is fabulous. I love all the detail. I bet Hubby loves it. We are so lucky to have gardens in this country to escape into aren't we. So many other European countries live in apartments with just a balcony, they must be going stir crazy especially as the weather improves.
ReplyDeleteHave a good week and take care

I am sure it will be loved - what a beautiful card it is. xx Jo
ReplyDeleteHappy day to you. Love your special card. My DH is all garden, but no good weather here as yet for that. 2 Perfect days and I took advantage and walked, sit on the patio, enjoyed lots of birds. We live in the country so any activity is enjoyed ! . Missing our weekly breakfast gatherings, but otherwise I enjoy being at home. Hope all is good your way. Thanks for the visit
ReplyDeleteI've just posted a comment but hit the wrong key and it disappeared so I don't know if it went through or not! Grrr. Anyway, what I said was, so glad you managed to get the final bird in the quiz, and isn't it amazing what a good night's sleep will do to reorganise the brain, so that what was a struggle the day before, suddenly becomes easy the next day. Someone suggested I gave the answers next week so I must remember to do that. I am glad you like our garden! My hubby is really enjoying being out in it, working away. Where we used to live we had a big garden and as he was working full time, it was a matter of maintenance, but now he's retired, and we've got a smaller garden, he can have a lot more fun with it. When the summer comes, we shall definitely be spending lots of time out there, with the kitties who really love playing outside.

That is beautiful Diana. I love how you seem to use tiny things like the leaves (remember the charm ones from before) to decorate your work. It is so often very intricate and different to what one sees normally. I really do like the way you have a central panel in this card and the tumbling vegetation falls over it. You have used veggies in a very artistic way, who would have thought runner beans and tomatoes could look so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteStay safe and well and carry on enjoying your crafting
Hugs, Neet 2 xx
Tell us more what are your beans and leaves made from? Love the finished result though. Lots of gardening going on during this lockdown.Ani#1

Dear Diana, it surely is just the card for him, right now,- and it is beautiful, with all the dye-cut ? leaves, beans and tomatoes , hanging so wonderful from the trellis. Also so love your details of the pods, and tomatoes the way you painted them. The wonderful background tones,- everything screams spring , and happy hours in the garden. I am feeling so lucky to have one, in this situation. I hope you stay safe my friend. Hugs, Dorthe
