I've been trying out some water colour ideas for a special birthday card this week.
I was rather hoping to have finished it by now,
but coming up with something I'm completely happy with is proving to be quite elusive - fingers crossed I have something finished by next week!
Such lovely watercolouring... the little autumnal garlands are completely delightful. I hope you work out something which pleases you in time - but any of these would make me happy on a card!

ReplyDeleteSo no pencil sketching first, just straight in there! Blimey Missus, you can really do this art stuff cant you! They look gorgeous, and I hope you dont mind if I say that it’s an encouragement to me to read that you havent quite managed to get fro head to paper yet...there’s hope for me!
ReplyDeleteYou are not happy with what I am looking at? Diana, your watercolouring is beautiful - that Chinese Lantern is so realistic! I love all the garlands.

Hi Diana, the watercolours are gorgeous, the colours so realistic. Never been brave enough to try watercolours!I have issues being happy with my pencil crayon colouring, although I am gradually improving. It helped watching a You Tube video, which explained what I was doing wrong, lol. Stay safe, Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #7 X

ReplyDeleteHi Diana. It has taken me all morning to pick up my click and collect order, so I am really late (for me) starting to work down the list - sorry! That watercolour painting is just beautiful 0 I cannot imagine how you can not be utterly happy with it all. I love the idea of a garland. Well done.
ReplyDeleteTake care. God bless.

ReplyDeleteOh just look at all this Autumnal loveliness isn't it just so restful creating such things. Funny how we have a similar attraction this week. At college we were taught to create around your chosen word but I find it much more exciting saving the word till last. Beautiful work Diana please share the final piece. Happy WoywW Hugs Tracey xx
ReplyDeleteLovely water colour , I am trying to do this but need more practice lol

Ohmy, your painting looks like vintage illustrations - just gorgeous!!! Thanks for your visit to my blog yesterday. In the Netherlands there were stricter rules announced in order to get the covid-number down but I am allowed to stay working at location - pfew! That's a release! Stay healthy and happy! Love from Holland. Marit #2
ReplyDeleteYou know what I’m noticing Diana, we crafters are way harsher critics of our own work than others are, I love your work and when click on your name always know loveliness awaits! Lovely autumnal images.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing, and God bless, Shaz in Oz.x #6

Looks like very detailed, exquisite work - no wonder it takes time! I have the same set of watercolours (well one of them, the others are too precious to use LOL) - I recognise it! Winsor & Newton's Cotman travel set! I do love watercolour textures - should use them more often, though I would be hopeless with this sort of work that requires precision. I don't even know how you do it as watercolours are so unpredictable, which is exactly why I find them fascinating and a little scary in equal measure! Thanks for your visit Diana! Sorry I couldn't come earlier - things just got a bit crazy around here! Have a lovely weekend! xx zsuzsa #20
