Autumn Bobbins

This is my desk about 10 minutes ago!
I'm struggling to be productive and the only thing on it is one freshly painted bobbin.  I have three others hanging in the window with the varnish drying and that is the sum total of my creativity recently. I think it's a case of the lock down doldrums!

I'm linking up with Julia over at WOYWW this week.

  1. Thank you for the diagnosis - I too am feeling like that but don't think I need a GP or anyone to sort me out. Maybe a swift kick up the pants would work for me.
Love your bobbin, that is so pretty. Will we see the others next week please?
Take care, Hugs, Neet 5 xx

  2. Your painting is fabulous! What about joining the three bobbins together with a burlap ribbon on the thin ends? Then hang it? I bet it would look gorgeous!

I think the struggling for inspiration is contagious ^^ Just this morning I was looking at an empty transparent ribbon spool thinking what to make of it... still waiting for inspiration to hit me :)

  4. I hope this comment ‘takes’ as I’ve been having great difficulty this morning...it only seems to be on embedded comments, not pop up pages. Weird huh?
Anyway, I wanted to tell you how much I admire your steady hand, the little paintings are exquisite. You must have a teeeeney tiny brush too!! The bobbin is absolutely gorgeous. I’m looking forward to seeing you at the ZoomCrop too, woohoo, it’s been ages since we last met.
Fingers crossed this comment will work....

  5. Very delicate handywork! You must be using a tiny tiny brush to paint those! I can see how challenging it is and requires a steady hand and good eyesight - and of course artistic talent! Have a lovely week, Diana - it's been lovely to see you pop up on WOYWW again! zsuzsa #21

  8. Oh that’s lovely Diana, you must have the teeniest paintbrushes. I can feel my fat fingers swelling at the thought of such delicate work! Doldrums, yep. Do you think it might be because it’s sort of as if someone took away the timeline, so the NEED to get stuff done has evaporated?!!

  11. Hi Diana, the bobbin is so pretty and such a detailed paint job too. I'd struggle to paint in miniature like that. The doldrums - that's exactly what it's like for us too. Hope your week gets better. Elizabeth x #32

Its suprizing how many thinks crafty people make or paint! yes the doldrums...its as Julia said, "someone has taken away the timeline, so the NEED to get stuff done has evaporated?!!" because you can do it tomorrow...or next week...We started off quite good, getting all those things done that we never had time for...but this lockdown...it's, we've done that...we've walked there...we cleaned that yesterday...we've painted that but! One thing I'll have plenty of time to work out how blogger works and thinks! Stay safe. Happy WOYWW

  19. Oh Diana, your autumn bobbin is just exquisite... Quite makes me wish I hadn't given up Honiton lacemaking all those years ago... Sorry you are in the doldrums a bit at the moment. There are times and seasons in life and they always come and go and I am sure you'll be fully back in the swing of things creative before long! The bobbin is a work of art.

    Happy belated WOYWW,

  20. These types of photos must be very creatively and sharply taken. We can capture them anywhere like, in a studio, in an apartment or anywhere outdoors. We have to do the pre-shooting preparation before framing the product. The preparation may include makeup, styles, location, lighting and obviously the model plays a very vital role. houston event photographers
