Studio Makeover!

OK I know I've mentioned it a lot lately, but I've been having a clear out!  Not all of it went to charity as I've found some long-hidden treasures that I've used to give my studio a bit of a makeover!
I've replaced my old brush pots with the jade coloured jars that I have had stored away and forgotten about, and the pretty floral jug which was found in my late father-in-law's suitcase of memories!  I decided they looked quite good together and although a creature of habit, I'm enjoying the change of colour scheme!
I also came across a dinner plate and mug while doing my online supermarket shop and they match the 'new' pots very nicely - perfect for a pencil pot and a tray for 'mess'.
I'm feeling quite smug that I remembered to clean my water pot to a passable standard before photographing it - it was mud coloured yesterday, inside and out!

It has been a week of quite terrible news and I feel very blessed to be able to indulge in such trifles as these and to feel safe in my own home and surrounding area.  My heart goes out to the people of Ukraine and I hope and pray they will find peace soon.

I'm linking up with Julia over at WOYWW this week.

  1. In the face of the craziness, I think it’s more important than ever to appreciate the beauty of small things that please us and enhance our lives….and not feel guilty about it. Your new pots are lovely, I do have a weakness for beautiful jugs!

  4. Oh what a pretty set of pots - they would make my heart sing every time I looked at them - fab colours. As Jan says, we must enjoy the little things and reflect on how lucky we are - while doing all we can for those poor folk in need. xx Jo

  5. Oh Diana, what a beautiful array of containers for your art tools. I love that colour and I think it must look absolutely gorgeous in the room. Love the plate, what a find that was and I am sure your water pot was not as bad as you think it was. Well, looking at mine, maybe!

  6. What a beautiful and inspiring way to store and display all your brushes! Much better use for that gorgeous pottery than be buried somewhere long forgotten! Yes, I think we're lucky that we live in the part of the world where we can still feel relatively safe at the moment but I think our sense of safety is a bit fragile as this situation can escalate our of control very quickly and then no one will be safe. I just don't understand. Hope you have a lovely week, Diana, and thanks for your visit! xx zsuzsa #14

  7. Hi Diana, your jade and flowered jars look great.
Linen stitch is really easy. Alternate 1 double crochet, skip one, chain one so that in the second row you do a double crochet in the chain space.
    Take care and happy WOYWW

  8. I'm with you it has been an awful time recently and all because of one person who wants to take over other countries no matter what. You brush holders are looking lovely but you are supposed to be clearing out and now you've bought something new! Pleased you like my Masterboard. I often find that playing with the stamps like this ends up with something that I probably wouldn't have thought of and extends the use of the stamps too. Take care and wishing you a very happy woyww, hugs Angela x11x

  9. Oh they look great and a wonderful way to dress up your room. I need to do more clearing out of my room.
I agree with you, when you see what is happening in the world it makes you feel more grateful for all that you have your freedom and everything that comes with that, prayers for all those in Ukraine!
