Crackle Paste and WOYWW 600

Wow, it's WOYWW 600th anniversary - what an achievement!

A huge Thank You and a massive Congratulations to Julia for bringing us all together and creating such a friendly, kind and supportive community each week.

 I'm trying not to let the side down but this is the sum total of what I have done this week - using crackle paste that didn't crackle, inks and Glossy Accents.

I was planning on doing a lot more but other situations have arisen and taken up my time, however I decided to photograph it anyway as I could hardly not join in on the 600th episode could I!

Spring is in the Air

'Spring is in the air' over at Tag Tuesday, so here is my Spring themed tag - 

with Pussy Willow stems, hard frosty ground and hints of new growth.

Fleur de Lys Tag and WOYWW

 I had a lovely, relaxing 'play' session in my studio yesterday and made this rather fussy tag for no reason other than the fun of it.  I flung everything at it - I stamped, crackled and foiled!  I then added some vivid blue glass beads simply because they are my latest passion!

Loving Ginkgo Leaves and WOYWW

It's that time of year again - time to gather up stray leaves that have fallen from a neighbours beautiful Ginkgo tree and press them for future projects! There's something so appealing about the shape of a Ginkgo leaf.  However they are rather delicate to work with so I needed a Ginkgo leaf die too! This one also embosses the leaf with veins but I've managed to completely erase them with my enthusiastic layering of crackle paste, glossy accents, antiquing cream and Metallic Lustre! 

They are both on MDF bases and the blue one is going to be the sturdy cover of a small journal I'm planning on making.  I had two ideas swimming around in my head so had to try both out - I think the blue one wins!

Happy mistakes - I accidentally dripped some dirty paint water onto the little pipe stems and I rather like the resulting splodges so I added more to both stems and leaves!

Paper Artsy Challenge - Fragile Papers

I am cutting it fine, but have just manged to link up with the Paper Artsy 2015 challenge before it closes for this week.  The subject was Fragile Papers. For my collage I used a disintegrating book cover for the base which has been beautifully eaten by something - the nibbled corner fell off while I was working on it!  I also used a page from an extremely old Shakespeare book that is falling apart, and some handmade Tyvek lacy papers.  Where I have pulled the Tyvek apart to make whispy bits, I rather like how they look like they've been eaten and match the little nibbled holes on the book cover!

Before starting the project I collected some 'fragile papers' together to get some inspiration - included is a vintage cigarette card, a page from a 1934 diary, part of the Shakespeare book previously mentioned, the broken top of a box for pianola music, and hidden underneath the various samples of Tyvek paper is a teabag!
