Midnight Garden Collage

Another little collage in my Midnight Garden series.   Embroidery on Cyanotype printing and a beautiful Japanese stamp that I have finally found a home for!

If you want to see what's on other people's desks this week they why not pop over to WOYWW.

  19. Another lovely piece, Diana. Well done. Yes, it would be interesting to see the whole series in one go.
Thanks for visiting. Yes, I loved making that blanket - I would never have said I could crochet. (Basically because I couldn't follow one of the patterns) However, I found the pattern on the internet, and it was SO easy to do. It just seemed to keep growing! It was thrilling to see how folk enjoyed bidding for it.
    Take care. God bless.

  20. I agree with the others, Diana - I would love to see the whole series once you have completed it, and I hope you will do a nice long blog post full of photos! This one is so delicate and exquisite - I love how you have used lace for the cyanotype, which ties it in so beautifully with the collaged lace and flowers. The Japanese stamp os a little gem with its delicate design and subtle colours, and well worth hoarding in your stash until the right opportunity to use it arose.

Thank you so much for your lovely comment, and your very kind words! I use that TH "bitty grunge" set quite a lot - it's good for adding texture to all sorts of things, and I do like how it comes out when you emboss with it.

I had my penultimate chemo today and while I was having it, did an adult colouring page which I am VERY pleased with - hop over and have a look! A very different sort of project, and very relaxing to do, and rewarding too. I've downloaded masses of drawings to print out so I shall have some fun with these over the coming days when I won't feel up to doing much.

    Happy belated WOYWW,

  21. What a gorgeous combination! That stamp is perfect, hopefully not too hard to get yourself to actually use it! I love that lacy pattern showing through the blue on the side.

  22. Hi Diana, thank you for your visit and YOUR very kind words!! I am so glad you liked my colouring. You are right, it is incredibly de-stressing and therapeutic, and the time simply flew by yesterday, with the drawing activity, and a period of chatting with a delightful couple too. The nurses were fascinated and kept stopping to see how I was getting on! I can see myself getting hooked on this. I always loved colouring in as a child, and this new craze is so good! I have got a dot-to-dot book for grownups too and that's a blast from the past - I loved those too, when I was small. Taking art work in when you've got to sit for hours having any sort of treatment is a great bonus, especially something as portable as this. I haven't taken Zentangle in because I still need the instructions for most of the patterns and that makes it less portable.

I am feeling pretty good today, but usually it's not too bad over the first weekend post-treatment because the steroids are still kicking in. The acid test will be Monday and beyond, but surely a 50 percent reduction in the dose is bound to have an effect, isn't it!
