After a couple of weeks break I'm back and busy making Christmas cards.
However much I hate using glitter, I really think the cards needed it - I'll probably be cleaning up the sparkly stuff well into the summer by the look of my studio!
Please excuse the quality of the photographs - I shall re-do them if we get better weather!
I am linking up with Julia over at WOYWW.
Hi Diana, these cards are gorgeous. Sorry to upset your plans but if you are like me and need to send many through the post you are going to need some flatties too. I would love to see some of them when they are made. The funny thing is that I find them harder to make as you have to be very clever with embellishments and all Christmas cards need that little something special. Take care and happy woyww, Angela x 19
ReplyDeleteLovely cards, very dimensional, do they need to go through the post? Vicky(#1)

ReplyDeleteHello there, traveller! Hope you had a wonderful time on your hols :-)
ReplyDeleteThose cards are beautiful, I love everything about them...but especially the fact that there's loads of glitter!! There's no such thing as too much bling ;-)

Oh what beauty! They are so gorgeous. The recipients will be so pleased!
ReplyDeleteWell done you!
Thank you for visiting earlier,
Have a good week,

Oh wow, Diana, I think these must be the most beautiful Christmas cards I've ever seen... Whoever receives them is going to be knocked sideways! Each one must take an age to do, so I hope your card list isn't too long...
ReplyDeleteThank you for your sensitivity and understanding - your comment was so lovely. Yes, it's been a rollercoaster of a year in every way, and now that it is all over I've got to allow myself time to adjust to everything. I am utterly exhausted today which is probably a reaction, and I still don't feel like throwing my hat in the air at the good news!! My own reaction to it is another factor in the equation that has to be dealt with because I have really surprised myself by reacting as I did...Thank you for the hug, and I am sure that in time I shall be fine again and bouncing back!!
Happy WOYWW,

Your cards are gorgeous! I love the colors and the way you put all the elements together! My daughter hates glitter and won't use it unless a design absolutely calls for it! Sometimes a project just needs some sparkle!
ReplyDeleteHave fun with all your Christmas projects, Diana!
Your photos are wonderful--I am getting ready to make some cards and I love stitching on them like this. Gorgeous! Sandy Leigh #43
ReplyDeleteYour cards are awesome! Yes you are right, a little glitter is always nice on Christmas cards.

You can't have enough glitter at this time of year as far as I'm concerned. There are so beautiful Diana.

ReplyDeleteCome on, you can't hate glitter! Fantastic cards - love the use of cheese cloth (if that's what it is). Full of dimension and texture! Happy WOYWW! zsuzsa #34
ReplyDeleteOh brilliant, each of them is a real beauty!!! Love the colours you used, that red with the Kraft and white is so effective, and yes, at Christmas, glitter is a must. Love these cards, thanks for the inspiration!!!
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful they are, they knock my efforts into touch that's for sure. X
ReplyDeleteThese took my breath away - so gorgeous!! Love that red - and how it works with the kraft and the white on all of these.... I am now scheming how to get on your card list, lol! Seriously, these are so beautiful....may I ask what stamp/s you used to create the damask and music? So perfect for this season! xxx Lynn

ps No I've never been sawn in half and no leotards were involved....I made magicians wastcoats with all their secrets ;-)
We all love a bit of glitter and the cards are stunning. I wish for your "bad" photos. Have a lovely week,

The colours are glorious, bringing such warmth and in actual fact your backgrounds bring to mind textiles or textured/flocked wallpaper. The cards are so tactile I wish I could reach out and run my fingers over them. They are each so perfectly embellished with the gathering of elements you brought together.

Oh Diana, your cards are absolutely amazing. What beautiful work you have done on these. I would be hard pressed to ever select a favorite, they are all so wonderful. But just for fun, I am going to say the first one, magnificent~
ReplyDeleteSo pretty and so Christmassy...I love them all :)

First, Sorry I am SO late with my Comments. I Love your cards and how different they are, so stunning . Thanks for visiting me earlier in the week . Soojay xx
ReplyDeleteI love the dimension and texture of the cards. This the season for glitter, whether we like it or not. I think we all have a love- hate relationship with it. In July when you're still vacuuming it up I hope you can laugh about it. Your work is always gorgeous. I am in awe of your talent. Diane 22
ReplyDeleteWow, your cards are so beautiful. I kind of agree with you about the glitter, though. I hate (HAAAAAAATE) glitter, but it does add a certain "something." I think it would look good as an accent on these.
ReplyDeleteHave I told you lately how much I love your work and blog hee hee

These are just fabulous! I so love the pattern in the background and the gorgeous bundles. :)
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, these are more than cards, these are gifts in and of themselves. So much beautiful detail (but of course, you made them!) and I love the colors. I can't even pick a favorite...
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely stunning... I generally fight shy of red, but this post by itself has almost converted me.

Fantastic, Diana! I'm so envious! This is the best thing for Christmas. It creates such an amazing atmosphere of carols and sweets and hot chocolate..mmm... I can swear I smell it!
