Spring Pinks

Getting a little tired of the bright green I've been working with lately I decided to add some vivid pink - a choice helped along by the beautiful bundle of cerise sari silk I found at the Needlework Fiesta few weeks ago.

I used the little frame stamps from May's Forgotten Stash post here, and I made a series of little Spring windows again.

Th backgrounds are Brusho's on clear texture paste - a technique I found on the Country View Crafts blog, although they were using Infusions and not Brusho's.  I have recently purchased the Infusion powders but felt they weren't as bright and vivid for what I wanted on this project.

I received another beautiful ATC in the post this week from Jo (Twiglet), and I'm thrilled with it - I love the colours, especially that beautiful bright pink -  very appropriate for my 'pink' mood this week and very gorgeous!  She also included a card showing close-up the beautiful and intricate work of her daughter Maxine (Tilly Tea Dance) - a big thank you Jo!

I am linking up with WOYWW this week.

  5. Oh the colour and the texture... so gorgeous!! I really love your work. I am so grateful for the teabag ATC you sent to me via mum this week. I am considering how to frame it and where to display it. For an artist I have very little original artwork on display in my home so I plan to change that, starting with yours :-). Thanks for sharing these wonderful pictures. Happy crafting, Max #41 x

  10. Beautiful Diana. I love them all but my fave is the middle one.The pink and green go so well together. And what a lovely effect with the brusho and the clear texture paste. I have had a box of brusho' for ages now and it is interesting to see another way to use them.

  17. Oh I love your colour combinations! Pretty and classy! I've got the Ken Oliver Colour Bursts, similar to Brushos. I must try them on fabric! So many ideas, so little time.
Re. ATC storage - the simplest way is to use the clear plastic Trading Card Sheets. They are fairly readily available (here in Australia). Have you seen them?
Thanks for dropping by, have a good week,

  18. You have done it again Diana, this is going to be yet another amazing collection!! The detail you always bring to your work takes my breath away, I usually adore your more muted colours, but these brighter hues just sing to me. The wire, the little beads, the ribbon and fabric, just stunning!!! Wished I could see and touch them IRL..... Love the ATC you received too!

  20. Another wow, wow, wow, Diana - just fabby-fabulous! Love the colour combination! I must get some clear texture paste for my brushos and infusions (which I haven't had a chance to try out yet). Thank you for your lovely comment - I'm with you with vintage china! I was so delighted to find this particular pattern and wish I'd bought myself a decent tea set years ago - I am using it every day and loving it so much! There are quite a few pieces coming up on Ebay - I keep looking, and yesterday another piece arrived - a rectangular sandwich plate to complement my collection. One of the things I like best about the vintage tea cups is that they are much thinner and finer than modern ones, and a real pleasure to drink from, esp. if you use good tea! I laughed at your antics in the bathroom - "and she shall have colour wherever she goes" lol lol!!! Nothing like leaving a sprinkle of rainbow wherever you tread! Perhaps you should leave the splashes of colour, and enjoy them!

WOYWW seems to have passed me by this week and I only remembered about it this a.m. Not that I have anything to show, but I do need to get on and produce something for my goddaughter who's just had a baby...

    Have a great week.

  22. Wow - what a shot of vibrant colour! There's definitely an uplifting feel to these, and I love the texture paste with the Brushos - a great technique. It's the delicate twirls of wire which really lift these into another level for me - gorgeous!
